Should the Titanic be presevered in a museam? I think the Titanic should be. It was a part of history. It would bring tourism. The good outwiegh the bad. I think it should be presevered because the Titanic is an important aspect of world history. People have looked for it for several years. They looked for it because, no one knew where or what had become of it. In 1912, it was the biggest and fastest ship. Also, it has influnced many other ship designs because of the damage the iceberg caused. The Titanic should also be presevred because, if it was made into at meuseam, it would attract tourists when opened. There is already a museam of replicas of things on the Titanic, which attracts people. It's a important part of history.
The point of excavating the site is to give the opportunity to be able to find all the artifacts buried. It is noted that sometimes it’s not that easy especially when you’re trying to dig up a sunken ship. The problem with excavating a sunken ship is that it has been in that location since the 1700s which means there has been over 300 years of deformation of the ship and everything inside of it. It is a hard task to retrieve the artifacts then being able to restore them to their pristine condition. I remember seeing in the video that once they had extracted the cannon with a crane they had to remove all the crustaceans on it then they would have to bathe it in chemicals for years because if they didn’t the cannon would still be decaying. That being said not all the remains of the ship and its treasure will be found unfortunately.
Kuznar believes it should be preserved for posterity but have come to the conclusion that there are better ways to preserve these monuments as to be in a museum. It will not erase history having them taken
Have you ever wondered about shipwrecks? Probably at some point in your life you have. What about the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald? It was the worst and fastest shipwreck in Great Lakes history. The sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald has a significant story and a significant history behind it, and it’s unfortunate the ship and her crew members aren’t here today.
Mira Kamdar, a French writer, writes her article "America's Gun Madness, as Seen from Europe" to inform her audience about the foolish lack of rules America seems to have on guns compared to other European countries. Kamdar's mother lives in a small city in Oregon, which was recently in the news for the mass shooting at a community college. This story not only made national news for America, but according to Mira, made international news to countries like France. After receiving this news, Mira writes this article to compare and contrast the gun laws in France and what seems the lack of gun laws and regulations in the United States. A mass shooting like the one at Umpqua Community College and even Sandy Hook Elementary School stun citizens
No one will blame you if Gordon Lightfoot's The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald floats through your mind as you explore the 16,000-square-foot Dossin Great Lakes Museum. After all, the museum was built to share the tales of the Great Lakes and Detroit's unique role in maritime history. The fate of the Edmund Fitzgerald in 1975 is just one of the many stories
The museum’s exhibits contain hundreds of thousands of artifacts and historically significant items typical of what one finds in many science and history museums. But, what I found most interesting was the Shipwreck display, which brought to life a romantic vision of the swashbuckling times of yore that I read about when I was young.
I believe that confederate monuments should be kept up. They do represent harsh times but they are a great representation of what we should not do. Therefore, they should be kept up.
The research vessel allowed footage of the sunken Titanic to be captured. The technology and submersible travel 16 hours round trip to actual ship 12,000 feet beneath the ocean surface. Cameron himself made the trip, when the submersible is traveling with little to see then, just 15 feet away the bow of the ship becomes visible. The more recent footage of the wreckage allows the editor to take us back in time by showing modern film that cuts recreated sets and actors in period costumes portraying passengers in 1912.
Another view is from CNN. They have a good point, it should not be flown because of the controversy it creates, but it should not be forgotten. “"Personally, I have believed for years it needed to be in a museum," Brannon told CNN's Poppy Harlow. "I apologize to the people of South Carolina. I've been in the House for five years. I should have introduced this bill five years ago." (Catherine E. Shoichet, Ashley Fantz and Holly Yan, CNN, June
Due to the timeless virtues of the men they portray whether its Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, or any other confederate war heroes, the Confederate Monuments should remain in public places. Their image is typically tarnished because they fought for the South, it’s hard for people
Relevance Statement: (Many of you have probably heard of the Titanic or even seen the movie but there is so many more details and facts that people are unaware of.)
The United States housing market and criminal justice system has experienced massive amounts of corruption. Racial discrimination still lives in this country, especially in the housing market. The most notable practice that reflects these views is racial steering. The practice in which real estate brokers guide prospective home buyers towards or away from certain neighborhoods based on their race. This illegal practice still exists and is widely used in the banking and insurance industries. The outcome for non-white residents are overbearing, because even though these individuals have the same financial capabilities to purchase in the same neighborhood, they simply because of their race. The United States not only suffers from large amounts
Monuments should be be put in a location where it is a hub or if the person or event was in fact there. The memorial was built
The Titanic may be one of the most famous and well known shipwrecks of our time. Just about everyone learns of the tragedy in school and how it was a complete accident. Information has been found that point to the tragedy not being what we think it is. There is evidence that shows that the ship thought to be the Titanic may actually be named the Olympic, and may have been used in an insurance scam. This evidence includes pictures showing different amounts of port holes and even people working on the ship coming forward. It has yet to be proven if this is 100% true, but most would agree that all of this points to it being true.
I have been fascinated by the history of the Titanic for as long as I can remember.
