The Draft in America “Should the United State of America adopt the idea that every American citizen should serve at least 2 years in the military?”, in my opinion, this is a terrible idea. America is “The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave”. Going into the military should be a personal choice. What would this benefit anyways? This is, in my opinion, a bad idea, this would change the course of America’s history as we know it.
Each country in the world has its own armed forces to protect its people and its land. I agree with the idea that each country is allowed to have its own defense. I also agree with the right of each citizen should have to refuse to join the armed forces. The job in the armed forces is not a job for every person. There are different kinds of reasons why a citizen could be or not be a good candidate for the military.
Young people in some countries are forced to serve two years in the military in some countries. I believe that we should not have a similar policy because some people want to do something else other than being in the military, we would have too many people in the military, and it would cost a lot of money. It is not fair to force people in the military. They can respect their countries in other ways. There are a lot of reasons why young people in the United States should not have to serve in the military for two years.
First, I think that there should not be a mandatory military service here because some people may not want to. The military can not obligate people to serve in the military. People have rights here to choose whether or not they
Teens are more smarter than what they get credit for. 16-year olds can register in the military which comes with the idea of young people and their vulnerability to die while out in combat. “Aged 16, a teenager can get married or enter a civil partnership and consent to a sexual relationships, pay income tax and national insurance, become a company director, join the army or a trade union and give their full consent to life or death medical procedures.” (The Guardian View on Lowering the Voting Age to 16). Teenagers are able to take many responsibilities, voting should be one of
Have you ever wondered why the U.S. doesn’t make kids do two years? No young kid should have to leave their family to go fight in a war. Reasons why are because their parents would be torn, The kids need to start their future, and they need enlightenment. These kids don’t need to be handling guns, knives, etc. I wonder why other countries have these kinds of rules.
Child Soldiers have become a hot topic over the years. Mainly whether these children should be held accountable for their war crimes or not. Most of these children were forced into the war. Either because they needed food and shelter or would face death from the other side if they
However, the last situation is different. If the military decides to kill the three people they found it will be morally correct, because they are on a mission, and they cannot risk the mission because of they found three innocent people that may give themselves away. So if they have
To me, military service means dedication, selflessness and a unique lifestyle. Military service is putting others before you, thriving for success and accomplishing a plan. My father’s service to our country means the world to me; from waking up early for a 0500 PT session, three deployments and late night staff duty, he has devoted countless hours to our country. He is one of the most selfless people I have ever met, and will always be there to help the people around him. Due to the late nights and even the occasional absence of a parental guardian, the military lifestyle can be seen as unique. Due to the strength, courage, and honor my father shares with our country, he has impacted, inspired and shaped my life to become what it is today.
"In peace sons bury fathers, in war fathers bury sons." Some countries make it mandatory to serve in the military. However, I believe that people should have a choice on whether they want to serve their country or not.
In current times, roughly 99.5% of American citizens don’t serve in the military in their lifetime. But is something that needs to be changed by force? Some people could argue that service in the United States military should be mandatory for everyone–in reality, though, that is an impossible and overall disastrous idea. Military service is something that only some people can do–not all people can deal with the lasting effects of war, including many mental illnesses and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Of course, there are many people who will deal with these things in order to protect our freedom–and others who won’t have to experience these at all. And, even if all people between the ages of 17 and 24 were to sign up to join the
Nowadays, people think that people shouldn't serve in the military at age of 18;however, i feel that hey should because they developed discipline skills and they learn self-defense.
Today, around the world, hundreds of thousands of children are currently serving as soldiers in many armed conflicts. Over the last ten years, two million children have been killed in conflict. Over one million have been orphaned, over six million children have been permanently disabled or injured, and over ten million have been left with psychological trauma. In life, children have been always told to do the right thing, to always influence others, but instead they are dragged into the midst of chaos, that can lead to destruction and death. Children deserve the right to a lifestyle that doesn’t involve chaos, but instead a life where children can live without fear. As a nation, we tell our children to grow up and become successful, but while we’re telling our children, there are children who are out fighting for their lives and that thought becomes nothing more but a fantasy. Growing up is every child’s dream, so why should we allow others to be deprive them of it? Children are children, not war pieces.
Mandatory military service is wrong. Have you ever known someone that was devastated because they lost a child, father, sibling, mother, grandmother, or a grandfather to war and bombings? If you don’t, you soon will if they force young people to serve two years of military service.
There are good things and bad things about being a military child. There are some good things I’m happy about the fact we can have base access. One of the best things about having base access is the fact that there are a lot of places where my family and I
