The 1900’s were a time for great transformations and growth within the theatrical community. Of all types of theater that were developed during that period, musical theater matured into a more respected and widely desired form of entertainment. Musical theater transformed from blackface minstrel shows with gag productions into pieces of reputable theater. One of the most influential productions in making that turn into sophistication is Showboat. Based on the novel by Edna Ferber Showboat was written by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II (Smith 627). Showboat was premiered in the Ziegfeld Theatre on December 27, 1927 (Smith 627). The 1926 novel chronicled the lives of a musical and racially
To establish positive and productive relationships with families a childcare provider must create a give and take interaction with the parents as well as the child. As a childcare provider I make it my mission to establish this kind of relationship my using social media as a medium for this relation. Class messenger is an app that parents and teachers can use to stay connected. Keeping a class progress folder is another way teachers can let the parents see what their children are working on, thus in return helping them see what they are learning and what areas they need help in.
This paper is a critique of a production of Show Boat, a musical classic with compositions by Jerome Kern and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, which was performed and produced by NETworks Presentations LLC at Emens Auditorium on the 14th of February 2001. Clayton Phillips, the director of the production, attempted to test the waters of racial discrimination by exploring controversial themes such as prejudice and interracial relationships. Show Boat takes an enlightened approach to ethnic controversy by using both music and drama to express the feelings and hopes of the characters to the audience. Even though I enjoyed the production, I felt that it was lacking in terms of its plot and may have overused its melodic reprises. However, Show

That commitment was suggested as annual dues. The board discussed the issue and decided that it was best determined through a vote of the general membership.

I am important and valued within Real Star Realty as when I first joined the team they were struggling with their social media efforts and marketing, since, we have had multiple comments saying how our marketing efforts have improved and I have noticed that more younger consumers are now considering contacting us, especially in terms of rentals. Throughout my placement I have helped develop and give ideas on how the business should present themselves through social media and deciding what material would be best to capture their audience as well as those who Real Star have not considered targeting, this has allowed the company to gain more brand awareness and reach in their marketing materials and therefore has created value for them. Additionally, I am a low-cost employee and slowly my efforts are becoming more recognised and appreciated by the team.
The symbiotic relationship between teachers and parents is crucial to the educational success of a student. Parents must be involved with their child’s education through consistent attendance of IEP meetings and advocate for their child and their needs at school. Teachers can encourage parent involvement through, traveling notebooks home and note home programs which establish an open line of communication between teacher and parent. Parent-teacher conferences are a great way for teachers and parents to be involved in the success of the student's educational experience.
Ten Thousand Cents by Aaron Koblin and Takashi Kawashima from 2007, for example, is a digital artwork that creates a representation of a $100 bill. Using a custom drawing tool (Mechanical Turk), thousands of individuals working in isolation from one another painted a tiny part of the bill without knowledge of the overall task. Workers were paid one cent each via Amazon’s Mechanical Turk distributed labor tool. The total labor cost to create the bill, the multi-authored artwork being created, and the reproductions available for purchase (to charity) are all $100. (Koblin and Kawashima 2007) The producers and viewers of the work are carefully tracked on the website, even if they do not buy the work – average times spent and the location of visitors from Egypt to the Philippines are logged. (Graham, 2014)

Conflict in the workplace may not be discernible; as such, it may go undetected, be mismanaged, or yield unsuccessful resolutions. Episode 22 of season 2 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, a series about an N.Y.P.D. squad, exemplifies this through the investigation of a high-profile homicide case by the nine-nine detectives. As the investigation opens, the detective team is called in, along with their Captain, Holt, to the office of Deputy Chief Madeline Wuntch. Due to its seriousness, Holt assumed that Wuntch would pass the case to a higher-level department; however, Wuntch extended the offer to use any N.Y.P.D. resources required to solve the case instead. Moreover, Holt remains suspicious of Wuntch’s intentions throughout the episode, which leads to his formal decision of joining his detectives on the case.
