Take Shrek for example. Everyone has to have seen or heard of him. He is that big fat, scary green ogre that takes mud showers in his swamp. Smelly!!! He wears a dirty old white shirt, a crocodile skin vest and likes to eat onions and slugs. But is this all Shrek is?
You shouldn't judge a book by it's cover because it's not fair. Do you know what it's like to be judged? Before you judge someone by their appearance, you should get to know that person. Just because others have labeled them unpopular, dorky or nerdy doesn't mean that really says anything about that person. Most people don't take the time to understand others and usually rely on what they hear from rumors, or what their eyes let them see.
The gross-looking brown apple just may be a delicious one, or beyond that old and uninviting storefront there may be gorgeous clothes. We can never know what lies beyond the exterior until we check it out.

It is important to be kind to one another, and always remember that everyone has a story that we do not know about. Appearances can be deceiving. Before you can make a judgment about something's value or worth, you need to take the time to investigate it fully. Take a deeper, closer look.True worth and value aren't always obvious when we only look at the surface. We cannot become immersed in the way something or someone looks like, we need to try and look at people and try to see the real them and get to know their story before we make assumptions. No one has a perfect life, and nothing is ever easy. Shrek looked horrible on the outside but on the inside, he was kind, caring, passionate and
Judging someone based on how they look on the outside does not represent how they may
A Scottish Proverb once said, “Do not judge by appearances; a rich heart may be under a poor coat.” This quote applies to the theme of the novel,“The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle” by Avi. The theme is don’t judge a book by its cover and in the quote, it says to not judge someone by appearances because they might be different than what you think. The first example is shown on page 24, “One always needs a final friend.”
It’s not a coincidence the idea of not judging a book by its cover is referenced so often. During the course of “Outcasts of Poker Flat”, a short story written by Bret Harte, the characters change quite drastically from seemingly obvious villains and unlikable characters, to heroes through their unlikely actions of kindness and prosperity. Mr. John Oakhurst inhabits this idea through his immoral apparent character, which is slowly but strongly manipulated by his actions and choices toward others in the story. During the beginning of Bret Harte’s story, the protagonist, Oakhurst, is being told off by many members within the town. The citizens argue he’s been stealing money, and to “let this yer young man out of the Roaring camp” and stealing
When we first getting to know a person, most of us stereotype and with just only looking at their appearance, we often already make a short conclusion on their characteristic and background. Society should consider other people's feeling in the way society wants others to be considered. The general rule applies; if people want to be respected, then they should respect
Although, I am not the type of person who judges people based on their superficial characteristics, after reviewing the examples depicted in the multimedia analysis, I did find myself judging
The way our culture has a tendency to view other individuals by there appearance will probably never change. In some way everyone has it set in his or her mind what makes a person "perfect". These characteristics include personal appearance, wealth and intelligence. We do not always get the chance to get to know a person, but rather make assumptions. Two poems, which reveal different perceptions of someone, include Richard Cory and The Barbie Doll.
The followers of Buddhism observe nature and take in all the beauty of it. I know that I need to achieve this. There are times where I judge people for the way they look, act, or talk. This is a wrong way to judge people, and unfortunately it is something most people are adapted to in our society. We must treat everyone with compassion for one another. This is a lesson that is greatly practiced in the Buddhism religion. “Furthermore, when we speak about people based on what we think, feel, or hope rather than on what we observe and experience, we deprive them of their
People are judged for their appearance all over the world, every day. People with brown, ragged clothes are assumed to be less intelligent, or homeless. People with long hair are assumed to be female. There are many stereotypes that limit the social actions of many people, and it is not just in real life. Rodman Philbrick shows that these stereotypes are not always true in the book “Freak The Mighty” in the form of Maxwell Cane, Kevin, Loretta, and Iggy Lee. All of those characters are misjudged by others, and in some cases, even by themselves. The message that your appearance does not determine who you are is very important, and applies to everyone everywhere.
Taking place in downtown West Palm Beach, Dreyfoos School of the Arts put on Shrek the Musical. The sensational production took place in the Meyer Hall. Shrek the Musical was originally produced on Broadway by DreamWorks Theatrical and Neal Street Productions. It was Directed and choreographed by Michelle Petrucci and Musical Direction was done by Dominic Raffa. However the original Direction was done by Jason Moore. There were brief moments when I forgot that this was a high school production. I felt like I was see a Broadway musical or at least a decent off Broadway musical.
Unfortunately, the human race is very shallow. We tend to judge the appearances of others,
The only creature that does not judge Shrek for the way he looks is the donkey. His character is similar in both the movie and the picture book. Donkey wants to be Shrek’s friend and does not flee from him. In fact, Shrek gets annoyed in the movie because Donkey will not leave him alone. He actually wants to stay with him and help him on his journey to find the princess in both the movie and the book.

This paragraph was hard to understand. She seems to be trying to explain to the reader that although you should not judge a book by its cover, businesses often make assumptions by their appearance.
A famous person once said “Judging a person doesn’t define who they are. It defines who YOU are.” Don’t judge someone by how they look comes out in both of the stories “The Lion and the Mouse” by Rob John and “Wonder” by R.J Palacio. Both of the stories have characters that are different from others. Both of the characters get judged, but are very helpful in the end.
People judge each other on a daily basis. The way an individual presents themselves, speaks, and behave are all qualities other people base their perception off of. Consequently, these inferences are quite useful in determining who you would and would not enjoy being in any type of relationship with based on surface appearance. However, people may take judging people on surface appearance too far. Therefore, although making a judgement on about a person may not be a negative inference, people take their judgmental attitude to the extreme. Consequently, they have placed themselves in a negative lifestyle which negatively impacts their mood and social interactions.
