Shrek The Musical Analysis

Godspell is a musical that explains various parables from the Gospel of Matthew (and a few from the Gospel of Luke.) The production of Godspell put on at Carthage took a modern approach to the Broadway classic. Instead of philosophers debating religion during the opening, it was college students venting on the internet. Additionally, the actors chose not to don clown makeup after choosing to follow Jesus, but instead, each wore a pin to demonstrate their allegiance. The music is set to modern beats but the lyrics are derived from popular hymns.

In the story of The Epic of Gilgamesh the themes of coping with loss and death and the presence of fear and uncertainty in one’s life are of significant relevance as the story unfolds. The main character Gilgamesh and the supporting character Enkidu develop a strong bond throughout the story. After Enkidu dies, Gilgamesh transitions from a high point in his life full of glory and adventures to a time of misery and grieving. This leads Gilgamesh to set into perspective his own existence. From this point on, Gilgamesh dreads death and the uncertainty it surrounds it. Especially during the time when the story develops people had a pessimistic outlook on death and life which intensifies his fear. Loss and death and the presence of fear and uncertainty are themes that are affluence in the book and are reflected in the sorrows, lamentations and fears of the main character Gilgamesh.

Disney films over their course of existence have hidden double meanings in many of the films they produce. Rather if you are a child or a full pledged adult, people from all different ages can receive a bit of advice when it comes to what Disney films try to convey in their motion pictures. Disney is also to be known for some of their unforgettable whimsical characters and memorable songs in every film. The film released in 2009 “The Princess and The Frog” is no different. Especially when it comes to Mama’s Odie’s musical number half way through the film. Mama’s Odie’s song, “Dig a Little Deeper” is full of metaphors, themes and imagery one can deeply analyze.

Love is represented in many shapes and ideas based on social context as well as those caught within. William Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew as well as its adaptation 10 Things I Hate About You by Gil Junger, represent their respective ideas on love which shares its similarities and differences, both portraying love in their own forms. Both texts highlight the ideals of love in their context as well as one of the main courtships, Katharina and Petruchio, involved in love, portraying their values of love.

Throughout the novella, Of Mice and Men, Steinbeck's use of the motif of friendship reveals the theme that friendship is an important part of living a fulfilling life. George and Lennie have known each other since they were born. Some may describe them as just companions, but in reality they are family and they look after each other. Lennie says, " 'Guys like us got no fambly. They make a little stake an' then they blow it in' "

On the evening of July 27th, I attended a production of “Carrie: The Musical” based on the novel “Carrie” by Stephen King. The musical was performed by Near West Theater in Cleveland and directed by Devon Turchan. The main character who name is Carrie White is an outcast through the entire play and her entire life you learn this when the other students talk about past experiences with Carrie. The main antagonist in the play is her very own mother Margaret White. Ms.White is a very religious woman that wants to protect Carrie from the dangers in the world and even herself, very overprotective women and to what I believe very crazy. The plot is brought to life by supporting characters/actors in the play who names are Sue Nell, Tommy Ross, Chris Hargensen, Billy Nolan, Miss Gardner. The actions of all these people building up and resting on carrier shoulders throughout the play cause her to find out she has powers. The end of Act II is when everything comes together Carrie who was invited to the prom by Tommy Ross in a generous gesture that was purposed by Sue Nell. The prom was going very well and Carrie was becoming carefree and was seeing everything she missed out on. Things took things for the worse when Chris and Tommy pour pigs blood on her when she won prom queen. Carrie took all the frustration and years of bullying and the powers she found out about she burned everyone alive at the prom. When she got home she was covered in blood and was crying her very own mom took

Supreme Court Diversity The decisions that the Supreme Court Justices make are crucial to everyone who lives in this Country. Without the educational diversity and the work experience to expose them to the needs of the community, it would seem as if the justices come to a conclusion fully blind folded. Many believe that the Supreme Court is more diverse than it ever was but the reality is that it is less diverse.

LISTENER RELEVANCE: Since film scores are such an important part of movies, it makes sense to learn a little bit more about them.

`Shrek' is the ultimate fractured fairy tale, a film that manages to simultaneously honor and lampoon the conventions of its genre without becoming smug or condescending in the process. For while it is sardonic, `Shrek' is never cynical, so confident and assured are its makers in establishing and maintaining just the right tone for a revisionist exercise such as this one. The film certainly conveys a modern sensibility, yet it is a gentle sort of iconoclasm that allows us to enjoy the more conventional aspects of the story (the happily-ever-after ending, for example) even as we are laughing at the obvious absurdities contained within them.

In my paper I will be discussing what makes Rent such an extraordinary rock musical, the care that went into creating it, and how it was different from what came before. I will provide analysis of characters and the plot, plus I will be describing the importance and relevance of certain songs.

Crossing social class was highly looked down upon for centuries, but had become accepted by society when social mobility had expanded. To this day, however, it is still unacceptable within some families or groups. A man by the name of Walt Disney believed love could be conquered no matter what the odds were. Disney’s famous concept of crossing social classes to find true love, is used in almost every Disney film. A major motion film, Aladdin, serves as a perfect example of the famous concept. Not only was this movie based on the crossing of the rich and poor, but it also went as far as emphasizing the status of the royalty lifestyle, versus the peasant lifestyle.

When I heard my parents talking about going to Disney World I was so excited. It was a long trip down to Florida and I could not sit still, because I was so excited.
