a. The habitat of the Siberian tiger is very important because it secures a home for the types of prey that these wildcats would hunt.
1. They usually stay in Korean pine broadleaf forest in Russian Far east (animals.nationalgeographic.com).
2. They are also found in coniferous areas and any forest in between.
3. Some of the subspecies of Siberian tiger can also be found in North Korea and China.

To understand an animal more, you must first understand the history behind it. The evolution of Siberian tigers started when a fossil of Siberian tigers were found in China. It was two million years old. Even though the animals have different features that make them appear different, they are very much alike internally, including that in the distant past they had a common ancestor. For example, all tigers have characteristics such as; strip patterns, large paws, long claw, whiskers, sharp teeth, long tail, and strong hind legs. The tiger species may have common characteristics, but their
Sabretooth Tigers are interesting animals they are carnivores and a theory that they went extinct in the tar pits along with Canis Lupis while hunting prey. A Sabretooth Tiger is in the family of the cats most closely related to lions and tigers. They are particularly known for their distinctive long teeth that were perfect for piecing flesh and cutting the most arteries. The Sabretooth tiger was one of the most known megafauna’ mammals of the Pleistocene epoch. (Staff)

The tasmanian tiger is one of the most fabled animals out there. Once widely spread throughout Australia, the creature then disappeared everywhere except Tasmania. While it had a heinous appearance, these tigers were shy and quiet, normally mute. Some had such a nervous temperament, they died from shock when captured. Yet, always avoiding any contact with humans.
In “The Stripes Will Survive” it states “ In 1981, the American Zoo and Aquarium association (AZA) started the Species Survival Plan (SSP) to make sure that threatened and endangered species don't disappear. The members of the Tiger SSP teach the public about the plight of tigers and do research. They keep a computerized family tree of zoo tigers that helps match males and females for breeding.” This shows that the AZA is taking big steps to make sure that tigers survive and breed.
In a land far far away the distant land of Tasmania, There was a black striped assassin, known as the thylacine. This Striped hound, was located in two places, in the dry lands of Australia, and the island of Tasmania. This cunning black striped tiger, was the main predator of these strange lands, and was a vicious marsupial. Inadequately, our ignorance, resulted in these magnificent species of animal, unlawful, non deserved, gruesome total extinction.
The leopard species is mostly associated with the stable conditions in the African savannah however there is a rare exception living in the harsh winters of eastern Russia. This species goes by the common names of Amur leopard, Far East leopard, Manchurian leopard or the Korean leopard. The Amur leopard’s scientific name is Panthera pardus orientalis, in the family felidae and one of ten sub species of leopards. In 2000 the IUCN added the Amur leopard to their Red List of Threatened Species classifying the subspecies as Critically Endangered, and the CITES has listed it on Appendix I. This species is down to a population size of roughly thirty adults, making it the most rare species of big cat in the wild (WWF). Previously the Amur leopard stretched from southeastern Russia, through Northeast China, and into the Korean peninsula in the 19th century however after decades of “destruction, poaching, and hunting of its prey, the Amur leopard has been restricted to a tiny fragment of its former range” (Klappenbach). Due to this unbalance of nature the Amur Leopard is struggling to survive. In the period between 1970 and 1983 the leopard lost eighty percent of its habitat range. Today only 20-25 leopards it inhabit a 5,000 km squared area in Russian Province of Primorsky Krai while only 7-12 are thought to be scattered in areas of northern China.
Did you know, since the 1800’s, around 58 different species, native to Australia, have gone extinct? One if these species on the brink of being another one of these numbers is the Tasmanian Tiger, an Australian animal that has no reason to be forced close to extinction, an Australian animal that doesn’t like and avoids human contact, an Australian animal that our future generations may not ever see. Unless we act now. Hunting and bounties are asking for the death of these creatures. We need to act now. These animals don’t have a voice, they can’t tell us that they are lonely in the wild, and that now they sleep alone, we must be their voice.
Although lynx hunt their prey like mice and squirrels on the ground, but they often climb trees and swim swiftly to catch birds
Tigers are amazing creatures that have gone through several evolutionary changes from the beginning of their species. A modern day tiger is most recognizable for their pattern of dark vertical stripes on orange fur with a white underside. The largest modern day tiger in record was eleven feet tall and weighed 387 pounds. In the terms of science tigers are under the classification of roaring tigers and the scientific name of a tiger is Panthera tigris. But in order to learn about about the evolutionary changes of the tigers of today; it is important to look at the the core definition of evolution itself and the history of the adaptations that lead to the modern tiger. The adaptation of various ancestors shaped the outcome
Tigers are a fascinating, and endangered, animal. They develop fast, and go off on their own when they’re mature. Tigers live in various climates, and eat various things as well. They are very strong, and have amazing energy. Not only are they magnificent to watch, but there are many interesting, and not well known, facts about them.
The Siberian or Amur tiger is well known for being one of the biggest Asian cats in the world;. Its also known for its wonderful dark, horizontal stripes on orange fur. The average tiger weighs between 396 to 660 pounds and can reach a length up to 10 feet. Because of its size, it is widely believed to be a powerful animal. However, these majestic animals are endangered - in fact, they are among one of the most endangered species on Earth. By the 1940s, the Siberian tiger was driven to the brink of extinction. Only forty tigers remained in the wild at the time. Fortunately, Russia granted the tiger full protection; which made Russia the first country in the world to do so. The population of the Siberian tiger increased to 500 in the 1980s, however, poaching activity increased after the Soviet Union fell. There are only as many as 540 Siberian tigers left in the wild, and although the population is stable, they are still on the brink of extinction.
