This past May, a collection of Rockford locals gathered together for an open mic session, organized by Auburn student Jess Mubrigi. From its roots, Silience is uncannily organic. Set in the historic Emerson funeral home within the Mendelssohn Center, the physical surroundings are indicitive of classical Rockford archetechture while introducing an atmosphere often lacking in mainstream
Rockford events. The gathering space immediately envelopes its visiters, thanks to Jess's thoughtful

Jess related that one night she experienced an epiphany perpetuating her to pursue Silience's establishment. Since then, she has devoted herself to the development of Silience as a community.
Silience shows routinely feature physical copies of locally made artwork, books, and mixtapes. In August, Jess hosted a Silience Flea Market which sold donated "90's fashion, cultural clothing, designer brands, and hip furniture." The October show will be "dedicated to Rockford's HipHop culture & family" with a rap battle hosted by Silience's MC, Luke McGowan-Arnold. There will also be a costume contest with prizes for best solo costume, best duo/group costume, and most creative costume. In addition, Silience will debut their T-shirt, featuring the iconic Silience milk bottle designed by Cynthia Ho.
Silience evokes an atmosphere singular to its premises. The general vibes emmitted are relaxed and inviting. Silience is perhaps the most diverse array of preformers of any venue in the Rockford area. Artists are representative of all stages of life as well as a broad reach of social and economic class. The degree of experience and dominanace in the art scene is essentially irrelevent to the Silience audience. This overarching attitude allows preformers to deliever to truly raw and uncensered
Appleby runs an annual concert where members of the Guitar Club are given a chance to perform the songs that they have been working on for the year. In 2015, I was the organizer of Guitar Fest, making announcements, preparing set lists, designing posters and getting other members of the club involved. Guitar Fest was very successful last year, with both a great audience turnout and amazing performances from club members.
The Battle of Sio, fought between December 1943 and March 1944, was the break-out and pursuit phase of General Douglas MacArthur's Huon Peninsula campaign, part of the New Guinea campaign of World War II. Following the defeat of the Japanese in the Battle of Sattelberg, Australian Army forces broke through positions around Finschhafen. Constant pressure from US Navy PT boats, Australian land forces and Allied aircraft brought the Japanese logistical system to the brink of collapse, resulting in disease, malnutrition and privation for the Japanese soldiers. Australian and Papuan troops advanced along the coast, employing infantry, tanks, and air strikes against the Japanese positions, which were generally sited at creek crossings in the jungle.
Along with live entertainment on any of the six stages at the event, there will be a singer songwriter contest with cash awards. Along with the cash award, winners will be invited to perform as well as sell their CDs at the event. They'll also receive help with lodging and have access to the Green Room.
During the weekend of September 24th-25, 2016, I had attended some of the events involved with Allegany History Week and the Civil War Reenactment in Wellsville. On Saturday, I visited the historical display room in Howe Library, in Wellsville, and visited the Civil War Reenactment in Wellsville’s Island Park. On Sunday, I went to see the Voices of the Past event at the Palmer Opera House in Cuba. This will be a report of what I had seen in these events.
I'm writing on behalf of Kollaboration DC. Kollaboration DC is the DC chapter of Kollaboration, a national non profit focused on empowering Asian American talent and promoting diversity in media. For the year of 2016, we are planning to have a series of open mic events in the DC-NOVA area. I believe Bus Boys and Poets would be an ideal location for this purpose. Our initial plan is to have the first open mic on June 11th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. I would really appreciate it if you could get back to me at your earliest convenience to discuss the matter further.

In this paper, I will discuss the identity of Maxwell, derived from his performance at the Verizon Center. Maxwell’s performance represented his identity as a sensual male artist, whose appreciation for women grew from his mother playing the role of both parents. Furthermore, I will discuss how Maxwell’s influencers have played a role in his development as a Neo Soul artist. First, I will give background on the artist and the genre he belongs to. Next, I will provide background on the concert, such as the venue. Then, I will discuss aspects of his performance that mainly embody Maxwell’s identity. Finally, I will conclude with an overview of how Maxwell’s performance depicts his identity as a sensual, Neo Soul artist.
Sion Sono (Love Exposure, Antiporno, Guilty of Romance) introduced himself to the world with this "film", where he exemplified his inclination towards the extreme.
In recent years the growth of the festival’s attendance has created a problem for many visitors in their ability to find lodging. Resulting in many having to stay in motels and/or bed and breakfasts as far as 60 kilometres away. Readings and musical events sell out within hours after tickets go on sale. Additional readings have been added, but the demand still exceeds the supply.
Nite at the Puppet Asylum slams highlight a variety of puppetry styles in a short performance format consisting of mini works less than ten minutes long. The character and essence of each act range from hilarious and/or evocative to raw and/or accomplished, much like a variety night at a comedy club. We encourage artists, musicians, performers and yes, puppeteers to participate.

Dr.Mittion uses a narrative style of writing at the beginning of these largely informative essays, he paints a picture of the setting by describing his hike with is friend six hundred feet above the river, or the thirty seven mile long trek to his campsite. In addition to describing the setting Dr.Mittion also uses his personal experience of seeing the sunflowers and rock formations which led him to wonder how they got there, consequently this made him ask questions that he answered by researching, and asking fellow collages. Dr. Mittion really hooked me in the beginning of the sandstone essays, because now I want to go see the different shapes in the sandstone and name them for myself.
School organized the event, which was co-sponsored by the Normal Theater and WGLT radio station.
