Silver City is the county seat of Grant County, and by far the most important town of the southern New Mexico. Presently, Silver City is a vibrant town surrounded with well develop structures and organizations, but the establishment of silver city took some years in achieving it present glory as a small town that stands out brightly in any rural community. The town is located at approximately 33 degrees latitude and 109 degrees longitude in the southwestern corner of the modern state of New Mexico. It is nested in the foothills of the great continental Divide which curves around the community to the north and to the west (Leslie, 1960). High up in the mountain building were constructed and the advent of the railroads was established which connected to major roads, silver city did very large business with the northern broader of Mexican Republic and then was a laid foundation for the present beautiful and substantial city. …show more content…

The historic story of Silver City ties to the mining, ranching and agriculture. In my research I discovered that the town of Silver City have close neighboring towns around their surroundings, such as Bayard, Hurley, Santa Clara, Cliff and Hanover etc. All these different towns are just few miles away from each other and most people interconnect between towns in their related activities such as school, Medicare and work.
