The two characters Abigail Williams and John Proctor actions give them very interesting traits for what is done in their actions. John being a hardworking, fallible, and a man of integrity, still has his downs for the being he is. Abigail having the mind and feeling of being a leading, crazy, heartless women. Not all traits and first impressions are good towards someone. Reasons and background come around to be who you are. John Proctor did everything in his good to do the better but also did things that bring down that part of him. He is a liar and a man who cheats on his wife he says he loves, a liar in many ways. The ways he lied his way around the fact he had a benefits in ways he shouldn't have with Abigail, having to lie to his wife
The Crucible, written by Arthur Miller, there were countless crucial similarities and differences amongst the charters. Abigail Williams and Elizabeth Proctor were characters whose actions for a man molded their reputations. Abigail’s reputation was destroyed while Elizabeth had a positive reputation; they tried intensively to preserve it since they wanted a good name.
In Arthur Millers’ play, The Crucible, both Elizabeth Proctor and Abigail Williams play pivotal roles that decide the fate of many other characters. Abigail is the 17 year old niece of Reverend Parris, and she is a very deceiving person. Elizabeth Proctor is the wife of John Proctor, and she is a forgiving person. These two characters are similar in some ways, but on the other hand they are very different. Both of these women have many similarities.
Although there is no physical glimpse of Abigail Williams in Act II of The Crucibles, Abigail's presence has an influencing role on many of the characters in the play. In Act II, it is comprehensible that Abigail's previous actions have a lasting impact on John and Elizabeth Proctor's marriage. Several months ago, John and Abigail take part in an affair which eventually leads to Abigail falling in love with John. Elizabeth ultimately finds out the truth thus creating tension within the marriage. John Proctor realizes his sin and tries to mend his marriage by refusing to interact with Abigail. Johns decision of no longer seeing Abigail infuriates her hence Abigails despise towards Elizabeth Proctor: “She wants me dead. I knew all week it would
"God is dead" a word that ended the conspiracy which two characters in the play The Crucible, are involved in this word. They are Abigail Williams and Elizabeth proctor and now I will compare this two characters in their personality traits. In every play there is the good characters and the evil characters, and this for sure represented in Abigail and Elizabeth. Abigail is the one that represents evil and Elizabeth vice versa, she is the one that represents kindness and goodness in the play.
John Proctor is one of the most interesting characters in literature because he is incredibly loyal (except when he’s cheating on his wife), brave and handsome not unlike another person we know from history in real life who is also played by Daniel Day Lewis, Abraham Lincoln. It's almost as if John Proctor himself was Abraham Lincoln, now i'm not suggesting that he is in the real world of course no that would be preposterous but rather that within the larger interconnected entertainment universe he is indeed the abraham in the movie lincoln. Now how did you come to that conclusion you might be asking yourself, well first we have to look at the similarities between the characters first we'll examine John Proctor. He is like i said before one of the most loyal characters going so far as to put himself in the light of the public for being an adulterer and statutory rapist to save those who are innocent of the crimes they are being accused of and to bring the real criminals (which happens to be a bunch of teenage girls) to justice. He is also willing to go to great lengths to achieve his goals not only does he try to save his wife through legal means but also by punching some guy in the face and having mary warren basically turn herself in for being apart of a cult that requires you to dance naked in the woods upon initiation.
One of the main links between the two women is their love for John Proctor. This would create much animosity between the two women and would lead to much strife between the two. While Abigail Williams saw
In a small town when another woman sleeps with your husband the word gets around. In this play there are two characters that illustrate this action. Abigail and Elizabeth have many similarities and differences between them. Throughout the play known as The Crucible, antecedent events between Abigail and Elizabeth cause their similarities and differences to be distinct.
Arthur Miller has composed a historical play titled, The Crucible, which conveys the famous witch trials in Salem, Massachusetts. Very intriguing and riveting characters took part in the story, and along with their complex personalities, they created a whole new world of chaos and hysteria that someone of this generation will never experience. Among these characters are two Puritan women that go by the name of: Abigail Williams and Elizabeth Proctor. Although they both are motivated by their love for a man named John Proctor, their differences eventually lead to his end.
John Proctor, a good man who is known as someone who defends the people he cares about. He has good morals, is the good citizen. John is one who cares and worked hard to protect his name. This is why it was hard for him to admit he had an affair with Abigail Williams. Also when he to choose to sign a paper saying that he was consorting with the devil, this was quite hard due to his pride and honor. He would rather die than
John Proctor is portrayed throughout the play to be a man who has high moral values that he must abide by. He
John proctor fought to keep his reputation as much as he could. Another character who fought for their remaining reputation was Abigail Williams. Abigail was accused of doing things that she said she didn’t do. Their was one last person who wanted a good reputation still, and that was Elizabeth Proctor. Elizabeth was a like any other typical wife, until she was set up by a girl named Mary Warren and Abigail williams, then later got into some trouble.

Arthur Miller wrote the play The Crucible in 1953. The Crucible takes place in the late 1600`s around a town called Salem in Massachusetts. Miller went to Salem and acquired historical documents about the Salem witch trials and used the real people's diaries and other writings to gather information on what happened and how it happened. He also used the information to create interesting and real characters that would grab and hold audiences attention. His most memorable characters, Abigail Williams and John Proctor, are really the center pieces of the play. Although Abby and Proctor in The Crucible seem like polar opposites, they are however one in the same as they use different methods to reach an unlikely bet yet common goal proving how in common they really are.
Arthur Miller’s The Crucible presents Elizabeth Proctor and Abigail Williams who serve important roles through their unique characteristics and thinking. John Proctor’s wife, Elizabeth, has two defining characteristics that show throughout this play: she not only lives to please everyone around her and behaves passively, but she lacks the assertiveness to confront what lies directly under her nose. However, Abigail, the girl John Proctor commits the crime of adultery with, manipulates those around her. She is keen to act upon an opportunity when one arises and feels a determination to get her way. While Elizabeth and Abigail are similar in their love for John Proctor, Elizabeth differs from Abigail through her tendency to try to please everyone and keep her own emotions bottled up, while Abigail believes the world revolves around her and works to make things go her own way.
