What sorts of qualities are required to be a king? The word king bears several meanings, according to Dictionary.com. “A person or thing preeminent in its class” was listed as the third definition. That is quite a prestigious role to carry. The music industry beheld two such kings, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson. Though the differences between the two are evident; it is the uncanny similarities, I think, that truly encompass the definition of the word; and why both men were deserving of the title.

Although Jackson grew up listening to country music, it was R&B that claimed him. Inspired by the likes of James Brown and Jackie Wilson, Jackson, at the tender age of 10, audition for Motown and thus began a career that has yet to be surpassed. Although, Jackson did prove his acting capabilities in the film adaptation of The Wiz; however, it was not enough to gain him any other roles. His movie career, though brief, was lingering. Fortunately, it did not prevent Jackson from fulfilling his potentials. While Elvis captivated his audience with his guitar, Michael, on the hand, enchanted the world with his feet.
