Similarities Between Gilgamesh And Enkidu

The story of Gilgamesh and Enkidu on a heroic quest to take down a fearsome beast is one that we’ve all heard. This story in particular is surprising because for its age and how it was written, the tale of a quest with the reward of fame is very modern. For example, in one of the versions of King Arthur, Merlin is a friend rather than a mentor; who participate in quests of epic proportions. In most cases, similar to Enkidu, Merlin advises these quests the be a bad idea and that death is certain. However, Arthur suggests otherwise. He advocates the idea of taking on these quests not for riches or women but fame.
