These skills enable them to effectively incorporate the aforementioned themes. The themes are written to be demonstrated throughout the plot; therefore, a reader is introduced to a topic on various occasions which efficiently reinforces the message an author desires to convey. Othello and The Great Gatsby serve not only as a source of entertainment for readers, but they also provide a chance for the reader to grow. Literary themes such as love serve the purpose to teach the readers various lessons that an author values. For instance, the theme of love is used to display how actual love cannot originate from materialism or how a lack of communication can ruin love. Moreover, the idea that lying will always bring forth detrimental consequences is observed through the theme of deception while the use of the theme of death displays how one should not take life for granted since it is fragile. Works of literature such as Othello or The Great Gatsby aid in the delivering of ideas, opinions, and lessons that the author wishes to share in an effort to help their audience grow as
During times of need, one seeks comfort from the world around them as it rages on inside and out, corrupting everything in sight. War expressed in both the books, The Great Gatsby and Seabiscuit are similar in that they offer two different insights of fighting physical and mental wars; manifesting internally, in their settings, and on the people around them. War takes many shapes and is dealt in more than one way. How you deal with it, is what matters.
“You are all a lost generation…” Ernest Hemingway writes in his book The Sun Also Rises. The lost generation often refers to a group of writers during the 1920’s; it consisted of many writers such as Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald and Hemingway were two of many great literary writers who attempted to change the world in a post World War 1 era. Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises and Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby both impacted the 1920’s world with their common themes and beliefs portrayed through their literary works. A similar theme between the two works was the impact the war had on the people of the world.
In the two texts, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry, the idea of the American Dream is portrayed differently between different characters. The American Dream is all about being successful, and the definition of success in this way is seen as having as much money and wealth as possible. The way of achieving this is by having money. Which, in turn, makes money important to attaining the American Dream. This is shown throughout both texts, but can be specifically focused on one character from both texts. One character is an example of someone who would agree that money is important to the American Dream, while the other character might agree that money is important, but in different ways than the other, as that their American Dream is not just to be wealthy.
Macbeth is one of Shakespeare's most intense plays and one his most complex psychological studies. It is also a play about which there is a great deal of historical background, which I think you'll find interesting because it reveals Shakespeare's creative process. The play was written in 1605--1606. It's one of the plays where the date is pretty firmly established by internal references to external events, and most scholars have agreed on the date.
“What is better, the book or movie?” a commonly asked question by many individuals who are curious to know one’s opinion on a novel or film he/she is interested in. The book is usually always better than the movie because the book is more detailed, one gets to know the characters better, and it allows one to be more creative and have his/her own interpretation on what is occurring. In this case, The Great Gatsby is a remarkable 1925 novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, which was made into various movie adaptions in 1926, 1949, 1974, 2000 and 2013. Each version takes place in drastically different periods, so each type has its own take on the film, also depending on the director’s vision. This goes to show that the cinema has been trying periodically to recreate F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic, but the attempts of the movies have mostly failed. In particular, the 1974 film decreases its effectiveness in representing the message that Fitzgerald was attempting to demonstrate in the book, which contributes to the book being significantly better than the film for various reasons.
King Lear and Jay Gatsby are both influential and wealthy men consumed by obsession and lose everything in their desperate pursuit of love. This is their tragic flaw; and one that ultimately leads to their demise.
Mary Shelly’s depiction of Victor Frankenstein and Shakespeare’s illustration of Othello show the similarities and difference how tragic heroes fall by their tragic flaws in different ways. Throughout the novel, both characters made a flawed mistake which led to their misfortune and tragedy. Shelly illustrates Frankenstein as a recalcitrant scientist who was fascinated by the secret of life. He creates a monster to life, and refuses to admit to anyone the horror of what he has created. In the other hand, Othello is a general trusted by many of his companions. He was manipulated by his friend Iago, who accused Othello’s wife Desdemona having an affair with Cassio. Othello kills his wife, and committed suicide after finding out Desdemona’s

Social class defined is a broad group in society having common economic, cultural, or political status. Social classes are a common theme in both modern and classic novels. The theme of social classes is clearly depicted throughout F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby and Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights. The social classes are distinguished in The Great Gatsby as old money, new money, and no money. Those that belong to a family from old money live on the lavish East Egg, while those that recently became wealthy live on the West egg. Similarly in Wuthering Heights, the wealth of a family is determined by where they live: Thrushcross Grange the superior property or Wuthering Heights. The protagonist in both novels struggle to overcome the barriers that accompany their social class in order to be with their beloveds.
There is a sharp contrast between Othello and Gatsby. The first point is about the attitled towords to their woman. Therefore, she got married with Nike who was the rich man.
While written centuries apart, The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald both focus on societal expectations and personal shame. Though Gatsby and Hester both commit adultery and face derision from society as a result, Gatsby, unlike Hester, is not able to accept his position in the community and remains a social pariah of the upper-class he so dearly wishes to join.

Also known as ‘The Red Curtain Trilogy’, there are many similarities between all three of these films with The Great Gatsby.
