Ratchet and Clank the Movie AKA A shallow and disappointing nostalgia trip.
I fondly remember going to my friend’s house and booting up the old PlayStation. A system whose nostalgic embrace is right there among other beloved memories such as Gogurt and Hey Arnold. I specifically remember the game Ratchet and Clank; an old action adventure game that followed the story of two heroes trying to stop planet-wide destruction at the hands of the evil chairman Drek. The game was enjoyable to say the least and it spawned many sequels (some better than others). Recently it received a reboot in the form of a 2016 game that follows some form of the original story but with some changes and updated graphics. After seeing this film I came to the conclusion

Instead of just messing up and doing it in an over the top way, so at least it’s memorable the film takes a cookie cutter approach and delivers a watered down mess. It’s like every time the screenwriters had a chance to take a risk or do something different they just deliberately did the opposite. The film doesn’t even stop to take breaks with the exception of a sequence in which Ratchet gets to try out an arsenal of really cool and colorful weapons and gadgets at a weapons test rang, Ratchet & Clank is all plot, all the time. Even though it’s all plot, at the same time there’s no real substance to speak of throughout the film, just a grab bag of scenes that feel …show more content…
Not great just good. The cast was star-studded and serviceable, that’s about it. The cast includes the likes of Paul Giamatti, John Goodman, Sylvester Stallone and Rosario Dawson. And yes, the cast gives it a semi-decent try, but in the end all the star-power in the world can’t save this film from its amazingly dull and lifeless story.
Every bit of this film is predictable and boring, Ratchet has little to no character and some of the most fun parts of the game were just brushed aside for cheap jokes that you would expect to see on Nick Jr. The movie was faithful enough to appease fans of the series but when it comes time to judge it based on its own merit, the film falls flat. If you bring your kids to see the film they might be slightly entertained but then again when I was 6 I thought Space Jam was Citizen
The acting was really good which resulted in the movie looking more real than fake. The movie also taught me a very good lesson which is to always stay out of trouble and avoid getting hurt. I also learned that in some cases, you might need to do things on your own, but sometimes it doesn't hurt to ask for help. I learned this lesson because I did see Stacy suffering through the pain while she was taking a shower and it appears to be that she might be too scared to tell anyone about how Bobby is mistreating her because she might fear that Bobby will hurt her. This movie showed its audience an example of a real life situation that many teenagers and college students face and it gives us a clearer image as to how we should handle our abusive relationships just as how Stacy’s friends try to do so. Overall, I congratulate the company this movie is coming from because it’s a movie everyone should
In my opinion, I feel that this movie, compared to today’s standards, is poor quality. From the 1980’s to the current time, the Hollywood industries and other movie producers have made astronomical improvements with every film released, and ever since
“Knocking him down won the first fight. I wanted to win all the next ones too.” This quote was from the Ender Games; a story about a young boy’s mission to kill an alien race and save the human kind. The book and movie have much similarty but the differences are what make the book better. The book allows you to get into the story while the movie is just a joke. I’ll let you decide which you prefer.
My final rating of the movie is three out of five stars because the sound effects were pretty good. The camera movements were good. The fight scenes were realistic and the characters didn’t fit their description but played their part

If I were a film critic I would give this film four and a half stars. It was well made and the actors were excellent. Although I have little to no experience living in a situation such as the one in the movie, I feel as though the lifestyle of these particular characters were portrayed truthfully. It was a culture shock to me, and the fact that it was most likely taken from real life is amazing in my mind. This movie not only made me think about the world as a whole but made me realize how incredibly lucky I am to have grown up in the environment in which I have lived in my entire life.
Lots of music, fast cuts, fantastic cinematography and superb sets and costumes make it the lively tale it was meant to be. These features also make the film somewhat cartoon-like with a lot of heightened realism. Don't expect to see British people prancing around in tights when you rent this one. Luhrmann creates a world where gun-toting youths sport Hawaiian shirts and beachfront brawls are an everyday event.
A lot of verbal diarrhea happened all to set up a three cross involving the character of Satchel. While the twist ending is pretty good, the road to getting there could have been so much better. Sofia Boutella is back fresh on the heels of leading the critical flop The Mummy remake and honestly, she is criminally underused here. Not only that but I would have to believe as French spy she would have died much sooner than she did. James McAvoy delivers as he usually does, James proves once again that few in Hollywood can bring a colorful character to live like he can. As for the lead, Charlize Theron is good but not great. Her role is very monotone and really doesn’t allow her to do much but be emotionless and show off what she learned in combat training.
Overall I found the movie to be quite interesting and exciting at times but a bit slow in others. The story itself was very clear to me and didn’t cause any confusion. It had a good flow also, just as you were on the verge of falling into boredom with a scene they switched it up on you to keep you
This movie is a really good movie! Nobody would have probably thought of the ending turnout. I personally thought that the three little kids were good actors. They really know what they are doing! The director, Wil Shriner really knows how to train his characters. These actors are made the movie so good!
Though the starring actors have plenty of box-office power, the acting was mediocre at best. The film should have been called the Charlize Theron movie, because let’s face it; the movie was all about her dramatic portrayal of the evil queen. Theron’s performance was so strong that poor Kristen Stewart just didn’t have a chance. The stunningly gorgeous Theron, made it hard to believe
Comment: I found this film very tough going- it is undoubtedly a well made film and has some clever and quirky moments. However I lost interest around halfway through the film and could not engage with the film and its clunky style. A lighter touch would have made a huge difference to the viewing experience. Perhaps as an artistic statement it deserves more than three stars but as a movie going experience it was only a little bit better than average.
I believe that this action packed blockbuster that gave Leonardo DiCaprio an Oscar is boring. I believe this not because it has a poor scenery or bad acting, the acting is phenomenal and the scenery and special effects are very detailed and
The hypothesize that females are protected from developing neurodevelopmental disorders. That is because of their sex hormones, estrogen provides a great neuroprotection, done by suppressing the neuro-excitotoxicity induced by glutamate. Research article by Etidal Al-Suwailem, Sex differences in the glutamate signaling pathway in juvenile rats goes into the discussion and understanding of how sex gender is represented in autism. The authors conducted research in this area to understand why the female is at lower risk than a male when it comes to the development of neurodevelopmental disorders. With the attempt to understand the differences in glutamate signaling as an etiological mechanism in autism.
The actors are believable in their roles. Steven Martin who acts as George Banks is outstanding in his role, he acts very well, so the audience knows his feelings, and feels sorry for him. The stars are not the main reason for me to see the film, but the title is.
