The Allegory of the Cave is one of Greek philosopher Plato’s most known pieces that he has ever written. It is an allegory, where humans are characterised, and been portrayed as being imprisoned by their bodies and what they perceive is only by sight. In the allegory of the cave Plato wanted to show how true reality is not always what it seems. A group of prisoners were chained up in a cave since their childhood; each prisoner was chained to each other by their necks, and ankles. They are not able to move, and when they did it caused pain, so they were forced to sit and stare, at a blank wall while they were in the cave. I see no similarities with my life with both of these ideas. I find the Matrix to be too much of a theory and there is no relevance or exact physical proof of The Matrix that is currently happening in real life. I do not believe that we as human beings are being controlled and guided by machines. In my opinion we are our own human self, and that we are walking, talking and breathing with only the help of ourselves, and our bodies. The Allegory of the Cave is an extended allegory where humans are portrayed as being imprisoned by their bodies and what they perceive by sight only. I do not believe that I am trapped, and bounded, and the only visual aspects I am able to perceive and see are only sight. Sight can be viewed by anyone, and anything, humans and animals. In my opinion the Allegory of the cave is a myth, it is a story told my people who do not have relevance nor importance in today’s society and life. However, I do believe that we are heavily influenced by media, and that the media is fooling all of us, with small things such as camera angle, and Photoshop. The media is the machine that guides, and influences us all. Illusions and conspiracy of the media, and newspapers feed us information and we as human beings tend to believe all that is said to
