Friends are like stars… you don’t see them all the time, but you know they are there. This quote reminds me of my friend Abbi Tucker and Ivan from The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate. They are both great friends and are very similar, but also different. Abbi Tucker and Ivan have many similarities, but they are also have pronounced differences. One similarity they have is that they are both loyal. Abbi is very loyal when it comes to helping people. When someone is upset or not feeling well, Abbi is always their to help them or help make them feel better. Ivan is also loyal, he won’t give up on trying to get Ruby out of the mall. “Once upon a time” I say, there was a baby elephant and she needed to go to a place called a zoo... “
Although they both had their ups and downs in their friendship, they both figured out ways to use their potential and overcome
They do also have similarities, they both set their mind to something and they don’t give
The similarities in each book are many, as most occur in the important events in each story like them getting split from their families. In the beginning, they’re both split from their families, then sent to camps. After they both end up just trying to survive in this new place, then after some time, get sent to another camp. The next camp for
“A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.” -Walter Winchell
“It’s easy to be friends when one shares the same opinions” (Dumas 304). Villefort said this to Franz. That’s what makes you friends. You become friends with someone when you have the same interests. “...Maximilien was intoxicated with love, Barrois was exhausted by the heat; Maximilien was not even out of breath when they arrived, for love lends wings, but Barrois, who had not been in love for many long years, was bathed in perspiration”
friends are like shadows. They appear at bright moments and are nowhere to be found
“A friend is someone who gives you total freedom to be yourself” (Jim Morrison). Friends are not made easily because no one is the same as each other. Yet we can be alike each other. Not only do the jocks fit together as friends, but the outcast kids do also. For example, in the book Staying fat for Sarah Byrnes by Chris Crutcher, Sarah Byrnes and Eric are alike. “‘My best friend. I [Eric] stayed fat a whole year for her" (Crutcher 7). Both teenagers are outcasts of their school because Sarah is seen as ugly and Eric is overweight. Since they are both outcast students, they learn off each other and protect each other. They do this by staying together through that hard times. Sarah and Eric both go through rough patches, yet Sarah faces danger
Many people are the same and that makes them friends. However, many people are different and could also be friends. A good example of this is like George and Lennie from Of Mice and Men.
In the modern age friendship comes in many different shapes and sizes. There's the good and there's the bad. You might even find some types of friendships surprising, for example an "entrepreneurial relationship". In the book "Of Mice and Men" Lennie and George are friends, but not very good friends. George is unfortunately friends with Lennie for the wrong reasons.
Friendships are like peanut butter and jelly, they are great by themselves, but even better together. If every person had a friend just like them, life would be boring. A friend that is somewhat similar, but also somewhat different is just right. In the novel, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, Johnny and Dally share many similarities and differences.
A quote from Author Truman Capote “Friendship is a pretty full-time occupation if you really are friendly with somebody. You can't have too many friends because then you're just not really friends.” Buddy, from A Christmas Memory, has one friend, his distant cousin, and is loyal and kind to her all the time. Like the quote, Buddy does not have many other friends and is very friendly with the one friend he has. Jimmy and Bob’s friendship starts to deteriorate, because they don’t spend enough time each other.
They are alike of how the bonobos approbation or approval of the humans that were invited into their life.Even thought they had different leaders they both know how to access or approach also to communicate with humans.. They both got taken care of and both had great owners. Finally, those were the reason of how Anastasia and Otto are alike on the other hand also
Newbery Award winning books, and Newbery Honor books, are children's literature that have exceeded in one or more area. These areas include: Theme or concept, accuracy, clarity and organization of information, development of plot and characters, the delineation of setting, and the appropriateness of the style of the literature. The One and Only Ivan exceeds these categories in more than one area. This fiction story is written for students in grades 3-5 and 6-8 at a guided reading level S (Scholastic, 2018). Katherine Applegate writes this story with a clear concept throughout. This children's literature clearly conveys the idea of what it means to treat others kindly, and how to be humane to not only humans, but to all living creatures. Not only is her concept defined throughout the story, the portrayal of the setting of the story is also appropriate and
A popular saying about companionship is “True love is forever”. Another saying that pertains more to these stories is, “Rare is as true love, true friendship is rarer”. Friendship is a state of mutual trust and
In life there are many changes that can cause a true friendship to go wary such as marriage, divorce, birth of children, new careers, and sickness. However, through each of those events the two must remember to keep the intimacy, the letting down of emotional barriers and the expression of innermost thoughts and feelings, “that which makes friendships thrive must be an enjoyable one” and to “always interact” (Karbo 3). Although psychologists continue to research the formation of friendships the great philosopher Aristotle knew exactly how friendships formed and how the lasted.
