Sin is the foundation of good and evil in today’s society. Without out this factor there would be no judging in society but peacefulness everywhere. We live in a society where sin is the tool that runs our culture. When many of us consider "What is sin?" we think of violations of the Ten Commandments. Some other people consider murder, adultery, theft, etc as sins too. In the Tokens of Trust by Rowan Williams he illustrates the language of the “orginal sin” “ is a tangle that goes back to our very roots of humanity”. According to the Marriam-Webster dictionary sin is defined as an immoral act considered to be a transgression against divine law.

He describes sin in this manner because when a person is committing, they do the opposite of what is usually done, especially if their methods are not generally approved of. Going against the grain often means thinking or acting outside the box, and thereby altering the established pattern. Christians believe that our environmental crisis is a symbol of this corporate sinfulness. “Jesus is the ultimate result of our sinfulness because he carries the self-distrustfulness of us human beings”. (85)
The only subject that can break the cycle and reverse the flow of things is Fearlessness. According to Rowan Williams there is no human in this world that has the ability to walk away from the cycle of rejection and defence. The only way to break through is Divine Freedom; God’s Freedom has no trace of self-interest or self defence. Jesus is the human event in history that reverses the flow of human self-abortion because it he is unconditionally open to divine
