This includes the use of modern technology and mechanization to reduce the dependency of manpower. Agriculture is the grassroots of America, yet if you walk into most college campuses across the United States and ask a student where their food comes from, the chances that they could tell you, is slim to none. With the vast growing population and increased demand, producers are striving to do their best to help feed the world. Thus, education is vital when it comes to agriculture, because alone farmers can only do so little, but together they can do so much. The production agriculture industry as a whole must collaborate to ensure that they can provide to consumers for years to come and sustain food security.
Lectures and seminars, offered both in-house or through outside vendors are the traditional forms of instruction and training for knowledge and development of conceptual and analytical abilities. Simulations provide the employee the opportunity to develop by simulating different scenarios cases taken from real problems. The employee then discusses the case and analyzes it, maybe even role-play. This helps improve decision-making judgment in the employee (DeCenzo & Robbins, 2007).
The resources I chose to help people with workplace training was Canada Social Development Services and Canoshweb. Canada Social Services help inform citizens about workplace safety and tells them what they are allowed to do, depending on the problem. It also informs the user about the rights they have and what they can do to get some help if any of these are being violated. It also lets the worker know what they can say if any of their worker rights are being violated, furthermore this website expands on your rights, and what is safe to do and what is not safe to do and how you can tell if it is safe or not. Also it lets the user know what their duty as a worker is and what they can or cannot do.
