Mark Tarnopolsky, a professor of paediatrics and exercise science discovered that exercise could give people a younger look approximately 20 to 30 years. The team tested the effect of exercise by collecting data from 29 men and women at the ages between 20 and 84.(30) Half of the participants were active, with at least three hours of exercises every week, whereas others are sedentary, with less than an hour of exercise per week. Buttock biopsy sample of each participant taken at the beginning of the study, buttock is an area where sun exposure would not be the factor of skin ageing, it would not interfere the results (30). The samples where examined under the microscope, and when the results are compared by age, the results were within the expectation where the older participants had thicker outer skin layer as compared to younger participants. However, when the results are further subdivided under the exercise habits. The results showed that men and women who have exercise frequently after age 40 have a healthier, thinner stratum corneums and thicker dermis layers. Their skin’s composition were close to the skin of 20s and 30s years olds, even their age is above 65
