Slave Narratives generally took the form of an autobiography in which the writer described his life from bondage to freedom. It discussed how slaves were captured and treated during the time of slavery. American slaves had to write those autobiographies in order to show to the readers that slaves are human and they are able to write their experiences in an reliable way. (Blight, 2004, para.1). Due to several reasons, this genre was considered as unique and important as well. It gave the contemporary readers the chance to explore one of the worst epochs in the United States and also to learn from the faults of the old generations.
