Slowing Dying Ronald Reagan once said, “Preservation of our environment is not a liberal or conservative challenge, it’s common sense.” Our environment is threatened in today’s world through climate change. Climate change is not a joke anymore. Scientist have proved that temperatures have increased in the world, changing jet streams and weather. With the temperature increasing in the world, there will be dramatic changes. Cities will flood, forests will burn, and crops will stop growing. Our planet is slowing dying because of our carelessness. Climate change needs to be stopped as soon as possible. Before we talk about what climate change has done to your planet, you need to know what has caused our climate to change. One of the biggest causes of climate change is the increase of Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere. Since the industrial revolution, the amount of Carbon Dioxide in our atmosphere has gone up by 33%. Carbon Dioxide traps heat and with the concentration so high, the …show more content…
With proof that our water levels are rising, our temperatures are rising, and our ice caps are melting should show that this is a problem that needs fixed above all. We need to start saving our planet. We should set laws, try our best personally to reduce our carbon footprint and try to make our atmosphere better. With help from people around the world we can stop climate change and help this planet for the better. We should invest our money in alternative power, conduct more research about the chemicals we are putting into our atmosphere, protect the oceans, and put regulations on companies that produce power or materials that release carbon or methane into the atmosphere. Stopping climate change will not be easy. Every single country on the planet has to participate in the clean up but with your help, we will be able to convince every country and every government that this problem needs to be fixed and fixed
Climate change is taking a big toll on our world and that it something that needs assistance but if we step back
Have you heard what is happening to the environment? Like how Greenland loses is 286 Gigatonnes of ice per year! And as of January 22, 2017, it has lost 3778.7 Gigatonnes since 2002! Why you ask? It’s due to Climate change. Climate change is a serious problem in our world, It can either end it or make it prosper that is why I chose to research it. Climate change won’t just effect on a country or continent, it will affect the whole world, and we are a part of that world. So, I decided to research it to see what we as humanity can do about climate change. To help I asked myself more questions such as “What will happen if we don’t intervene?”, “What is the source of the problem?”, “What are our choices as humanity?” After my research, I believe that there is a way to stop climate change and to do that we as humanity need to work together.
The primary cause of climate change is the burning of fossil fuels (oil and coal) which emits greenhouse gases into the atmosphere (mainly carbon dioxide) (What is climate change 2014). In addition, other human activities such as deforestation and agriculture also contribute to the proliferation of greenhouse gases, which cause Climate change (What is Being Done to Stop Climate Change).
The main reason the climate is changing is because people are adding greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. The most important greenhouse gas is carbon dioxide, which is released whenever people burn fossil fuels to do everyday activities like driving cars, heating buildings, and making electricity. As greenhouse gases build up in the atmosphere, they cause the Earth to trap extra heat, making the planet warmer.
. In unit 2 we learned that climate change is caused by CO2 (Carbon Dioxide). This layer of greenhouse gas is trapped into the atmosphere and increases the thickness of the layer. As a result it rises the Earth’s temperature warmer and causes climate change. The CO2 is caused by human activities such as pollutions and burning fossil fuel. The risk of climate change is extremely high such as loss of the major ice sheets and sudden changes in the
On the play An Enemy of the people, at the end of act 1 scene 2 page 60, Mrs. Stockmann says to her husband "Tom, Tom, there's so much injustice in the world! You've simply got to learn to live with it." Before, in the same scene we can see the difference of opinions between Dr. Stockmann and his family. Dr. Stockmann reveals his desire to tell the people the truth about the contaminated water, and the wish he has to solve the problem. His family do not agree with his opinion because it could put on risk their power under the city and they could loose much.
Climate change is a massive issue that is caused by many different things however, the main reason is greenhouse gasses. Greenhouse gasses are gasses, carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide being the main three (Greenhouse Gases), that allow direct sunlight to reach the surface and
Climate change in America is getting worse everyday and can destroy many of living organisms including humans; therefore, humans need to cut our greenhouse gas emissions fast or, oceans will be dramatically changed, the ice will melt causing floods, and the changing in weather causing severe damage. These are major issues that need to be resolved if we are planning on making a bright future on earth.
First, there are many causes of climate change, which is why climate change is becoming a bigger threat to humanity each and every day. The causes of climate change range from beginning thousands of years ago to really beginning in the recent decades (“Climate Change”). One
Climate change is not an idea that just popped into existence within the last few years, it has been a political issue since the 1990's but the issue began to raise its head in the 1970's. There are many different factors that play into the greenhouse effect that has wrapped the planet. The most important cause is the gases in the atmosphere blocking heat from escaping. While carbon dioxide plays a part in the greenhouse effect, the most abundant is water vapor while the methane in the atmosphere is far more active than the carbon dioxide will ever be. Nitrous oxide, used in soil cultivation practices, and Chlorofluorocarbons, which are synthetic compounds of industrial origin, also play a part, but on a smaller scale (Global Climate Change:
Climate change occurs when weather patterns change continuously for an extended period of time. This leads to an increase in the global temperature, also known as global warming. When solar radiation is reflected back to space, a tiny amount of it is captured by a layer of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. These gases include carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and many more. Carbon dioxide is the main contributor to the greenhouse effect. This is due to the heavy burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and volcanic eruptions.
The earth’s climate is predicted to change because human activities are altering the chemical composition of the atmosphere through the buildup of greenhouse gases –– primarily carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. The heat-trapping property of these gases is undisputed. Although uncertainty exists about exactly how earth’’s climate responds to these gases, global temperatures are rising. Go to the Emissions section for much more on greenhouse gases.
People are in danger if action is not taken soon everything will be lost. Global warming and the runaway greenhouse effect is real and dangerous. The greenhouse effect, which normally preserves life, is too powerful; it not longer acts to preserve the Earth but will destroy it. In order to secure a positive future for the current generation and beyond global warming needs to be understood and stopped.
Climate change is a worldwide issue. Not only is firm action and leadership critical in the United States, but also international efforts need to work toward reducing emissions. Strong public demand for climate change is crucial to enact effective global warming solutions for the future. Unless immediate action is taken, climate change will continue to escalate and continue to affect the entire planet. Ways nations and individuals can help repair the earth's atmosphere is reduce air pollution, use green energy, stop deforestation. Reducing air pollution could have a dramatic effect on climate change. Humans could impact this reduction by simple things such as conserving
So as to thorough understanding about climate change, the main causes need to be clarified. Generally, it came from two factors; natural factors and human activities. The former disturb the Earth in many ways. For example, firstly, as a result of the Earth 's orbit, temperature in each season is different, but too small. These lead to the temperature rising rapidly from approximately 1.8°C to 4.0°C over during 21st century which produced global warming (Scott et al., 2011). Next, the transformative energy from the sun is causing global effects of climate change such
