Climate change is taking a big toll on our world and that it something that needs assistance but if we step back

Have you heard what is happening to the environment? Like how Greenland loses is 286 Gigatonnes of ice per year! And as of January 22, 2017, it has lost 3778.7 Gigatonnes since 2002! Why you ask? It’s due to Climate change. Climate change is a serious problem in our world, It can either end it or make it prosper that is why I chose to research it. Climate change won’t just effect on a country or continent, it will affect the whole world, and we are a part of that world. So, I decided to research it to see what we as humanity can do about climate change. To help I asked myself more questions such as “What will happen if we don’t intervene?”, “What is the source of the problem?”, “What are our choices as humanity?” After my research, I believe that there is a way to stop climate change and to do that we as humanity need to work together.

The primary cause of climate change is the burning of fossil fuels (oil and coal) which emits greenhouse gases into the atmosphere (mainly carbon dioxide) (What is climate change 2014). In addition, other human activities such as deforestation and agriculture also contribute to the proliferation of greenhouse gases, which cause Climate change (What is Being Done to Stop Climate Change).

The main reason the climate is changing is because people are adding greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. The most important greenhouse gas is carbon dioxide, which is released whenever people burn fossil fuels to do everyday activities like driving cars, heating buildings, and making electricity. As greenhouse gases build up in the atmosphere, they cause the Earth to trap extra heat, making the planet warmer.

Climate change occurs when weather patterns change continuously for an extended period of time. This leads to an increase in the global temperature, also known as global warming. When solar radiation is reflected back to space, a tiny amount of it is captured by a layer of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. People are in danger if action is not taken soon everything will be lost. Global warming and the runaway greenhouse effect is real and dangerous. The greenhouse effect, which normally preserves life, is too powerful; it not longer acts to preserve the Earth but will destroy it. In order to secure a positive future for the current generation and beyond global warming needs to be understood and stopped.

Climate change is a worldwide issue. Not only is firm action and leadership critical in the United States, but also international efforts need to work toward reducing emissions. Strong public demand for climate change is crucial to enact effective global warming solutions for the future. Unless immediate action is taken, climate change will continue to escalate and continue to affect the entire planet. Ways nations and individuals can help repair the earth's atmosphere is reduce air pollution, use green energy, stop deforestation.
