When the bigger names and churches receive attention, there is an emotional, theological, and personal impact on the small church pastor. Emotionally, there should be joy seeing another succeed. If somebody in the same denominational is being successful, it makes sense to be happy for them since they are being successful in presenting a similar message. However, it may be saddening because the small church pastor is attempting to do the same thing, but is failing. Theologically, similarly to emotionally, a small church pastor should be happy because it appears that the masses are hearing their message. A pastor is concerned about having the message preached, and if someone is doing that, he should be joyful about it. However, he may feel called
Black Churches were extremely importan to African Americans from the years of slavery to this very day. Although attending them was difficult for blacks, they became the core of African American communities. “The biracial churches the Awakening spawned had never embraced African Americans on an equal basis with white people, and as time passed, white people denied black people significant influence in church governance” (pg. 101). Richard Allen and Absalom Jones would lead a movement and gain permission to use a church at evening times to preach to blacks. They would be forced out and need to establish a church of their own. White leaders would try to take over control of Mother Bethel congregation until 1816. This resulted “Mother Bethel becoming the birthplace of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME)” (pg.
The early church had lots of characteristics. According to Acts 2:42-47, the church was teaching, worshipping, communal, selfless, and growing. This empowered people to join the apostles in their spiritual journey. The modern church still is all these things, but also an institution, a herald, a sacrament, body of christ, servant, and community of disciples. All of these characteristics are important to the church as a whole.
The Christian Faith, the belief of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and resurrection from the dead through the holy spirit (ghost). The Christian faith has different denominations, or basically different branches or groups of the christian faith. The top three denominations of Christianity are, Catholicism, Protestantism, and Pentecostalism/Charismatic. In 2012, roughly 43,000 denominations existed. By 2025, people have estimated that there will be 55,000 denominations. These three questions, why the multitude of different denominations, does it matter what denomination an individual belongs to, what differences exist between denominations, will be answered.
The Anglican Church was founded in the year 1534 having the direct cause being after a disagreement between the pope and the King of England. The church today has approximately 85 million members (Office, 2017) and is the second largest church in Australia behind the Roman Catholic Church. (En.wikipedia.org, 2017)
Ever since I was six years old, the year I was baptized, I have been on fire for the Lord. I attended a Christian school for eight years and have always been very involved at my church. My first experience outside of my “Christian bubble” was when I went to a public high school. For the first time in my life, I was out of my comfort zone. Being at a public school challenged my faith, strengthened my leadership skills, and forced me to branch out and meet people I would have never encountered otherwise. However, even though being at a public school helped strengthen my faith in ways I would have never guessed, I believe attending a Christian university—like Liberty—is the best choice to further my education. Going to college is new and exciting, but it can also be a demanding and intimidating experience. Being so far away from home, in a different environment,
I would like to be considered for admission to this Colorado Christian University because I believe that it will be a perfect fit for me. I will have the opportunity to receive a degree and strengthen myself in the Word of God. For many years, I have been interested in studying Psychology. My interest in pursuing this field stems from many factors, but the number one reason will be my love for people. I consider myself to be big hearted and a compassionate person. God has blessed me with a caring spirit. I have love for people and I desire to be a helping hand to as many people I can reach. For many years I have found myself working with foster children or taking care of those who needed caregiver assistance and I want to go further. I believe
evangelical churches have had the largest growth. There are a number of reasons for the growth of evangelical churches in the last two decades of the twentieth century. First, Catholics were often targets of government repression for their "subversive" involvement in base Christian communities, while evangelicals were safe from government repression. Second, the evangelical emphasis on personal conversion is considered apolitical. Finally, small evangelical churches provide their members with a strong sense of community and family. During my whole life, my family and religion are the only ones that have helped me the most. My family have always encourage me in all types of situations and also religious because only God could guide me when I
People used to think leadership and charisma in a pastoral setting as a senior pastor gets all light and attention and people totally depend on one senior pastor. There is no team ministry or team work with laities and other staff. There is no good discipleship to raise next leadership, which is like “one man show” on the stage. After 30 more years of pastoring one church from planting a new church, the church is collapsed when the senior pastor is retired. There is no next leadership, and people do not like another high-qualified leader ship because they have not been exposed to any other leadership. So our church does not keep mega church and one leadership. There are plenty of associate pastors who rotate their turns for leading worship and preaching on Sundays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and early Morning Prayer services. In the way, people do not look upon a senior pastor all the time. In anytime and any chance, a senior pastor steps out for the next leadership, and church still keeps going well as usual. It is kind of team work or team ministry without outstanding of one

A Christian couple were barred from adopting their two foster children because they suggested that a child needs both mother and father for a stable upbringing, and were apprehensive of children being adopted by gay parents.
For this first Experience Paper I went to a Mormon Church with one of my dance teachers and her family. I had never gone to a Mormon Church before so the experience was new to me.
The couple who I interviewed for this paper volunteered after a social media post was made asking for a couple who would be willing to help. I will reference the couple by their initials throughout the paper. The husband’s initials are C. P., and A. P. are his wife’s initials.
Non gospel preachers talk a lot about human love. They talk a lot about our love for God, and our love for others. They don't talk much about Bible love, or how God's love empowers us to love others.
The principles of discipleship can be found throughout the Bible. One of the ultimate goals of discipleship is to become more Christ like which makes Jesus's life and grace an excellent basis for discipleship. Jesus invested in twelve men, the first Disciples, and entrusted them to continue the process. Peter, James, and John were a part of Christ's inner circle and he fostered and encouraged an exalted spiritual life and growth in these three. Paul was a Pharisee who was murdering Christians and then his life was transformed and he became an apostle. He gave his life over to God's purpose not only in a broad perspective, bringing the Gospel to the Gentiles, but also personal. Timothy was a disciple of Paul; Paul was personally involved in Timothy's life. The Great Commission commands the Disciples, in Matthew 28:19, to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit". The Disciples followed the Great Commission and Christianity spread. Believers are meant to follow the
I never thought to be a Christian leader. As a matter of fact, I am a person who did not know about God for 26 years. I was the center of my life, and there was no room for God to enter. Even when I was attending church service, I was trying not to be exposed to other church people. In other words, I was the kind of person who was afraid to walk into a life of faith. However, in the past three years, God has changed me in many ways, and showed me so many miraculous things. And, finally here I am. Being a Christian leader seems the most challenging job in the world. I am working as the chairman of a youth ministry, and walking on the path to be a church leader. When God called me to work for the
