For the reflection assignment, I choose to do the Smarter Measure test. From this test, I learned that I am a social learner. Some of my weakness are in typing, reading and reading recall. Some of my strengths are Technical Competency, Technical Knowledge, Life Factors, and Individual attributes. Some of my weaknesses are in reading and typing. These two areas surprised me quite a bit. I love to read, I read in every chance I get. The other are is way typing, this also surprised my, typing is something that I practice every day. I plan to do more timed reading so I can raise my score. For the typing I plan to write more papers on the computer, so I can gradually get faster at typing. I also learned that people tend to read faster when the
Bernal Díaz del Castillo saw horrible and wonderful things as the Spanish conquered Mexico. Castillo writes about the battle being difficult, the beautiful building on the water, and the statues of their idols. He talks about the riches of the land and their cruelty.
In deliverance of his sermon, “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God,” Jonathan Edwards is able to entice sinners across the globe in a warning that God will be judging their actions, and that the punishments to ensue will be unimaginable to all. The rhetorical situation that is prevalent throughout the text is that following God will allow individuals to live an eternal bliss in Heaven, and those who wish to go against God’s will are to come to terms with an everlasting perdition in Hell. Edwards incorporates many rhetorical devices throughout his sermon, including the use of ethos and pathos to appeal to ethics and emotion. In using logos, Edwards introduces Bible verses to his audience to give credit for the corroboration of his points of
3. Acknowledge your limitations and struggles. It can be difficult and unpleasant to think about your weaknesses as it makes you feel vulnerable. However, remember that this approach will allow you to truthfully identify areas you want to improve, and will ultimately guide you on what you need to do to convert your weaknesses into strengths. 4.
I have a few weaknesses when it comes to school. One of my weaknesses is nervousness. I tend to get nervous when it’s time to take a test. Another weakness is thinking I will not succeed. I am always afraid that I will fail, and not move forward. I seem to always second guess myself when it comes to writing a paper or speaking in front a room full of people. I am working on each of my weaknesses.
Weaknesses I have had difficulty on is having to write essays. Every time my teachers assign me work to perform that involves writing an essay for instance, I tend to get frustrated. I would often spend hours trying to craft an idea on what to write about and how I should word it in my essay. An additional problem is when I read the paper to myself and looks fine, but when I turn the paper over to someone else, they do not find the point I was trying to convey. Then, I would have to verbally express the key ideas or meaning of the essay. My next two weaknesses are the ones that I still continue to kind of struggle. Those weaknesses are not finding the right words to write and being easily
In my academic life, my bad social skills may be a hindrance in my ability to be successful in college. This is because my problem has interfered with my course work since it forces me to not ask for help and get nervous in social situations. Also, this affects my ability to accomplish goals. These problems are shown by the results of my Smarter Measure, which shows a low score in my social abilities and by personal experiences.
Hitler was a german politician who became leader of Germany through steps. HItler used many forms of propaganda to convince the German Citizens that Jews were the problem for their situation. Hitler also held rallies throughout Germany to further convince the Germans that his message was correct. Hitler’s message to the German citizens was that Jews are the reason for Germany’s economic situation. The propaganda in Germany continued in Hitler’s running and even later after he becomes fuhrer.
Based on the Clifton Strengths Assessment my top five strengths are strategic, deliberative, learner, maximize and individualization. As an individual, I rarely look into my weakness. I believe that when your too focused on your weakness, you forget about your strengths. Everything the book said is true, and we need to take the time to look at our strengths and make it perfect. It is true that in this world or the school system, we are taught to look at our weakness and correct it so that we can become stronger in our life. This book brings out the truth that I longed to hear for a long time. Invariably, I hear my professor tell their students that for them success in life, they must practice and look at our weakness. This book proves it wrong because for us to become successful, we must stay to our strengths’ path.
A person's strength was always his weakness. When it comes to reading and writing, I have many strengths and weaknesses. My past writing and reading experiences have made me into the writer/reader that I today. Strengths help me excel in my read/write, but the weaknesses do bring me in a stump at times. When writing an essay, you can have a very high vocabulary, but not have the best of grammar. The good thing about weaknesses is that they can be worked on to be made into a strength. Many people achieve this by setting goals and making the new one harder and harder. Without strengths or weaknesses or even goals, how would people learn from their mistakes, becoming better at what they're not or achieve their aims.
My biggest weakness is my unlikeness for writing. I don’t enjoy writing because I am never satisfied with the papers I write. I read a lot of books, so when I write a paper I want it to be up to my standards. If I never had a deadline, I would continue editing my paper forever. I want my papers to have the perfect tone. I come off as robotic and boring in my papers. My papers are hardly interesting because
My weak area was the self-regulation portion; most of my responses to how often I handled each situation were “usually.” I need to improve on controlling my feelings in certain situations, trying to be more aware of tasks and their proposed deadlines, managing my time wisely, and executing new ideas that I myself have formulated. Other weaknesses were found in most of the areas where my strengths were. Most of them involved taking risks, which my personality often deters me from engaging in.
During the semester, I learned to focus on my strengths and work on my weaknesses. I could use my organization, paragraph structure, and transition skills to keep high quality writing. This will be helpful to assure an above average grade when I take English 102 during the summer. On the other hand, although students often try to avoid their weaknesses, I see them as useful. Knowing my weaknesses gives me the opportunity to work on them until they become strengths. For example, as I mentioned before, organization is presently my biggest strength. However, at the beginning of the course, it wasn’t. I had to practice and work on it until it became natural and
The strengths I have: being efficient and organize. I have to have everything a particular manner before I write, perform, or do almost any jobs. Occasionally this can cost me lots of time. The weaknesses that I have are a perfectionist and impatient at times. I was used to working at a substantially faster rate than those around me. Sharing information and interacting with others is when I learn best. Understanding my weaknesses assists me to plan methods to conquer them when I am doing tasks and socializing with others. I must be kinder to myself and less strict about matters being merely so. I also need to be more delicate and comprehensible of others who tend not to take up my perfectionist styles. I also should be patient with people who take longer time to work. Since I have got a tendency to delay works when I do not feel like doing anything, I, therefore, need to create a regular schedule with integrated rewards and times for learning and acquiring assignments done.
While I definitely have more strengths than weaknesses, I do consider myself to have three weaknesses in my attributes. My weaknesses would include: Impatient, Shy and Reluctant. When working on a project, I can become a little impatient if the other group members are not pulling their weight properly or waiting till the last minute to do things. According to Melody Fletcher’s How To Overcome Impatience article, “Impatience is a response to fear”. I have a strong desire to control not only the outcome, but also how that outcome will come about and being impatient causes stress for myself because of the fear of failure. It can be somewhat irritating to work so hard on a project to have other group members conduct themselves in a manner that is unprofessional or not up to our higher education degree standards. I have managed to work on this weakness by knowing that every individual works at a different pace and levels of proficiency. I can be pretty shy when working in a group setting. While I try not to be reserved or nervous, I tend to sit back in listen during the first few group project meetings. I have worked on this weaknesses over my time at Full Sail University, by being more proactive in the group setting and taking control of either being the
I now know that my weaknesses particularly lack of confidence is through lack of knowledge in a specific area and can be boosted by improving my self management and allocating dedicated periods of time to a specific topic. This in itself will help me overcome the majority of my weaknesses and boost my confidence, in turn this will have a knock on effect in improving my assertiveness and concentration and avoid selling myself short. As stated by Chuck Gallozi Internet article 08.12.09 “Many are painfully aware of weaknesses that hold them back. Yet, surprisingly, they are unaware of their many strengths. Focusing on our weaknesses while ignoring our strengths can be a source of discouragement and failure. And glorifying our strengths while ignoring our weaknesses can be equally unproductive. It is only when we give equal weight to our strong points and faults that we can realise our potential. Also note that we must choose our friends carefully because each relationship nurtures our strengths and weaknesses. That is, we will grow better or worse, depending on whom we spend our time with. “ Choosing associates at University is not an option ,but I
