Is Smoking Worth Being Legal Smoking is not worth being out there for the public to do, there are activities you could be doing and having an exciting moment of your life instead of smoking. Everyone thinks about the smell of a cigarette and the appearance of a smoker and think “Hey, there 's a bum right there,” but they do not know about the true nature of cigarettes and smoking. Smoking may be considered a ‘hobby’ to someone who smokes yet most people do not know is the dark side to smoking. A ban on smoking will make a huge impact if it were to ever be put down as a law. Smoking has been known to ‘help’ people calm down and give them something to do if they were ever bored. Smoking has played a huge role in the military, "When I was sitting in a bunker in Vietnam at 0400, a cigarette gave me comfort and pleasure. OH! It is not good to get lung cancer but a sucking chest wound is?” says an ex-marine veteran of the Vietnam war. Numerous people smoke and there are powerful tobacco companies out there that will not go down without a fight if a ban on smoking came to life. Primarily why people usually start smoking for a reason, it could be for fun or it could be because of a simple relationship problem. Almost everyone one smokes for there first time in high school. High school is a big transition for a teenager, for most teens, parents let their teenagers experience what it is like being a high school student mean they can do whatever they want. Smoking is an activity that has been around for many years for people to use and adapt into their lifestyle. It is a tool that many people use to help reduce the stresses of life and put them in a comfortable position that enables them to cope with the hectic lifestyle they are living. However, smoking has been scientifically proven to cause many types of cancer, the most common being lung cancer resulting in numerous deaths across the United States. According to BBC, "Smoking is a greater cause of death and disability than any single disease" (BBC, 2). Evidently, the benefits and drawbacks of smoking have been debated for many years, and only recently have some countries have placed a ban in public places such as Britain and the United
Based on these there 's topics I hope that I will convince you to outlaw cigarette and Tobacco
Smoking has been a controversial issue in public culture as well in media. When someone smokes, the person lights the tobacco and all the chemicals so they burn. The person breathes in the smoke so it goes through the airways and into the lungs. The nicotine in the smoke get passed into the blood. Throughout the 20 century smoking has garnered too much attention on tv and in people life. Moreover 100 million people died from tobacco related diseases in the 20th century without action taken. Tobacco kills up 50% of its users, even though 1 billion people could die this century from tobacco related diseases. One research conducted by CNN in 1994 showed that 40% of people are in favor for smoking. Yet another research by Anna Heart showed that 70% population are for knowing public smoking. All thing consider smoking has a lot of disadvantages more than advantages and represent death. Personally I’m against smoking for many reasons health, addiction.
One of the largest and most problematic health issues in our society is smoking. Smoking is currently the leading cause of death in our country, due to its harmful and addicting contents, such as nicotine and tobacco. Although millions die from it each year, smoking is the single most preventable cause of death as well. Without smoking, a tremendous amount of money and lives will be saved. I think that our country should ban smoking and the production of cigarettes in order to maintain a healthier nation, help save the environment, and prevent the almost 1000 deaths that they cause in fires each year.
yet it is one of the most dangerous things you can do to yourself. Many people
Did you know that smoking can cause you to have long term illness and can possibly lead to death? It is a proven fact that it can slowly kill users over time. Did you also know that when cigarettes first came out, they had no warning label on it even though they knew what was in the product. If I were President, I would ban the production and use of all cigarettes and tobacco which would eliminate its use in media and entertainment, would be replaced with vapes, and would create a healthier environment.
A health watchdog is to take legal action in California against the manufacturers of some of the best-known brands of e-cigarettes, following tests to establish the levels of toxic chemicals they contain.
The usage and production of cigarettes is not new, but it should finally be put to an end. Everybody seems to put the use of cigarettes on the sideline when it comes to personal self destruct. The media focuses of how the opioid crisis is damaging people and their families, but what about the use of cigarettes? “Researchers calculated that 8.7 percent of all health care spending, or $170 billion a year, is for illness caused by tobacco smoke.”(Reuters, Thomson). Although classified as legal here in the United States of America, smoking is the “Leading cause of preventable death and disease in the United States.” ("Campaign Overview.") Granting all this, people do have the right to do whatever they please. However, the production, and usage
Spending money on smoking is too much and leads to nothing, and there are no benefits that people can get from smoking. Smoking can hit personal finances and smokers are burning their money for no reason. Instead of using money to get cigarettes, people can donate to non-government organizations to wipe out poverty and change people’s lives. Smoking is a major factor that is destroying the environment. Smoking cigarettes is bad for the air. People who do not smoke have to breathe the bad air around the smokers. Smoking needs to be banned in public to let other people breathe the fresh air. Most Americans are exposed to outdoor and indoor air that can cause cancer and other serious health problems. Smoking is a serious problem that needs to be taken care of. If we want a strong environment, clean environment, and a good public health, we need to ban smoking once and for all.
Lastly, cigarettes should be legal to not take people's freedom away. People have the right to chose whether if they want to smoke or not. In the U.S. we are facing many other problems worse than smoking that is causing violence, murder, mental and physical disorders. For example, a recent study made by WIRED has defined that America will be facing a big overwhelmingly obese by 2030. This problem will make a huge impact to the community, for the reason it would make increase the health care costs by s much as $66 billion. This is a bad problem that we would be facing a couple of years from
Cigarettes come with many damaging effects to not only the person using them but others around them. Many of the smokers in America are college students. With this being said, college campuses should not have to put up the effects of these harmful things. College campuses should remain smoke-free to remain free of the litter from cigarette buds, decrease second-hand smoke, and help people kick the habit for good.
There are many things, people don’t understand. One inquiring question is why teens smoke. There can be wishful thinking on the causes that maybe known to the teens themselves outside of the situation(s) that may start the causes. The most common and possible causes are Pressure amongst their peers, smoking availability, to promotion through industry advertisement, to the main causes of family situations, and possible negative influences. These are some of the possible reasons that cause teens to smoke before the legal age of 18 years old, and these causes can be the main factors in contributing to teenage smoking.
The effects of cigarette smoking can be horrifying. Smoking is dangerous not only to those who smoke, but to non-smokers and unborn children as well. Cigarette smoking is also physically and socially harming.
Cigarette smoking is something people all over the world have been doing for about 2000 years. Back in 2003, the first electronic cigarette was successfully created by a gentleman named Hon Lik. Lik was a 52 year old pharmacist at the time, whom of which was also a smoker. The inspiration behind making the electronic cigarette came after Lik’s father passed away from lung cancer due to him also being a heavy smoker. “A Historical Timeline of Electronic Cigarettes.” cassia.org. Consumer Advocates for Smoke Free Alternatives Association, 15 June 2017. The idea behind creating this device was to give smokers a way to still ingest nicotine, the most addictive chemical in tobacco cigarettes, without the countless negative health effects that
Tobacco has been around for many years, and it should be stopped, but can the economy handle it. The tobacco is reaching young children, and not to mention the nonsmokers as well. The medical effects alone should convince people to stop smoking. Even if the people wanted to quit, it's hard because they are already addicted. If the health doesn't stop people from smoking the cost should because this year the tax on tobacco has gone up dramatically. So now the cost is weakening our pockets. The only ones that win in the tobacco field are the Tobacco Company, because they make all the money. If profits fall, all they have to do is advertise a little harder and profits will roll
