Jonas, Lina, and Doon all posses the stereotypical traits of a hero. They are intelligent, courageous, and caring but they also have individual traits that led them to their success. These traits are solidified by their actions, words and thoughts throughout the story. Doon was serious and passionate, which came off as rude to some, but helped him and lina find their way out of Ember. He displays this trait in his frequent outbursts, such as his first on page thirteen, when he shouts to his class, “‘But Ember is not prospering’...’Everything is getting worse and worse.’”.Another trait of his is trust, as he never doubts for one second lina’s actions and words, but instead goes along with them. This is shown on page 112 , where Lina realizes
Some people may often wonder what happens when soldiers return home from war. Do you go back to living your ordinary life again or do you struggle with living those flashbacks, and fears, from being over in combat. In both of these short stories it speaks about how both of these men return home from war and there life back in their community changes.

Mr. Davit Shanto and I have worked closely together for the past year and a half. During that timespan, Davit has been a self-starter and an industrious contributor to the team endeavors. In addition to having an extraordinary degree of integrity and that type of person that brings out the best in those around him; he is one of those unique character who can both follow directions and take the leadership role, as appropriate. He is one of those individuals where I depended on him if I asked him or put him on projects, that either the task or project will be done by a certain deadline. He is strong in time management and his competence extends above and beyond the skills for which he was initially hired.
Katsumi can be quite charming, but this superficial gleam of niceness is usually just an act and if she doesn't feel like it's necessary she will be rather cold and sarcastic towards people and occasionally treat others like peasants, because she thinks she is better than almost everybody else. There are rare exceptions of people that will be treated sincerely nice, but those are people she cares about, and that is basically just her family and Miss Reiko. She is very protective of the people she sincerely likes and will treat them nice and hurt anyone that should threaten to harm these people. Other people besides her family, atleast according to Katsumi, haven't been able to prove themselves worthwhile of her friendship.
