The amount of content and personal details Snapchat has collected of our lives is astounding; however, everyone looks past it. Snapchatting is a different a fun way to communicate, which is why it is so popular and what encourages people to look past all that we give them. Snapchat currently has 173 million users, which just shows how much access to people everywhere around the world. It knows our name, location, birthday, email, phone number, and even more than we can imagine. Until doing this project I was one of these people, blinded by how much I was truly giving away about myself, but now after looking through their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, I truly have learnt a great deal.
The first reason I believe I should get Snapchat is I can only talk to my friends. This shows that I should get Snapchat because I can only communicate with my friends that I know. According to Cornell Research it states,” Essentially, users “friend” each other through the application and are then able to send each other either picture or text-based messages known as “snaps.” This proves I should get Snapchat because I can only communicate with people I know and I can only approve them like Instagram. For this reason I believe I should get Snapchat.
Social media has become one of the most dominate things in the lives of today’s youth. Millennials use social media for many reasons, to stay connected and as a source of entertainment. Among all the social media sites, one that is particularly popular is Snap chat. Most college and high school students check this app before twitter, Instagram, Facebook. Instagram noticed this trend early and tried to buy out snapchat, but their attempt failed and now snapchat has not only influenced its opens to copy its stories idea but also almost copy the format exactly. In my paper I will discuss two different articles that both focus on the topic of snap chat usage. I will also contrast these two articles and reveal how they have similar findings but different approaches.
She writes, “We are now in constant and continuous communication with our friends, co-workers and family over the course of a day” (Wortham 394). Even though the author’s partner lived more than 3,000 miles away, she used apps like: Google’s instant-messaging application, Gchat and others in order to correspond by voice and video that made her and other people feel close even though it’s over the screen. Physical communication is the most effective way to engage with individuals, as people are able to feel and visualize the presence of real emotions, but having a app like the one mentioned by the author, but if it’s not possible to communicate that way, communicating through the screen will fill the
In 2011, Three Stanford undergraduates started developing an online application which, in a chat setting, allows one computer user to send visual media like pictures to other computer users. After carefully calculating and managing my limited budget, I have bought enough food to last for a week. I have noticed that a majority of the groceries I bought were store brands. I have bought okra cut, frozen pizza, spaghetti, sauce, white bread, banana, milk and pancakes from the store brand “stop & shop”. Store brands are relatively cheaper comparing to food brands. Therefore, it is beneficial for SNAP program members to buy store brand groceries to cut back on a few dollars due to their limited budget. Other than store brand products, I have also bought numerous brand name products, including the quick grits, Italian style meatballs, ramen noodles, apple juice and yogurt. Despite their prissiness, brand name products often have a better reputation towards their quality and actual taste when it comes to food products. Therefore, having these food products in the meal plan can be satisfying towards the member despite costing a few more dollars.
