Sneakers. Some people think of them as equipment that might enhance an athlete’s performance. For others, it's style or merely just something to protect your feet. To me, sneakers are a blend of art and business. I am among many who appreciate sneakers for the culture of buying and selling. My family will get mad every time I bring home an expensive pair of shoes, but it’s a business for me. Some of my friends possess the same passion for shoes as me, but not the same passion that I have, for the business side of them. It all began in 8th grade. I loved wearing my shoes and showing off the latest and greatest pair, but one day I realized these shoes were limited and had a value that was over the retail price. In 9th grade. I got my first pair
Cons- The shoe has a basic color way and design which might not make it a ‘cool’ sneaker or a must have, however if you’re interested in on-the-court performance then this sneaker is for you.

There are several reasons why AGI should consider Mercury Athletic as an appropriate target for acquisition. First, acquiring Mercury could improve both companies financially. Acquiring Mercury would double AGI’s revenue. Although Mercury’s financial performance has been disappointing, they experienced top line growth of 20% in 2006. Unfortunately, their profitability has been disappointing due to price concessions to big box retailers and an unsuccessful women’s line. Mercury’s (and ultimately AGI’s) profitability could be improved by the synergies of the two companies merging. Synergies within supply chain, operations, research and development, and advertising should all improve Mercury’s EBITDA.
Sneaker Con is one of the biggest events and most talked a around the world today. Sneaker collectors travel to different cities to collect, trade and just to view the different styles of sneakers.

Their people who try to get the rarest shoes to add to their collection. Guthrie, a baseball player told interviewers about his vast collection held in his Utah home, he’s grown roughly 500 pairs(Skretta). Shoes are what dominate this subculture with the main distributors being Nike and Jordans. To many sneakerheads its harmless fun and to others its a business(Rahman). This group falls in love with their shoes caring for it as if it were a baby. Others see it as an opportunity to make a quick buck with an underground economy of shoes. However, is their another reason why these shoes are desirable? By many creative minds the shoes express their emotions and from a former sneakerhead “it’s like collecting fine art,” proclaimed by by keeney(Skretta). When someone has an emotional attachment to an object its hard to separate them. That is one of the reasons why sneakerheads have an obsession. Sneakerheads don’t only think about themselves. The culture helps out the economy as one sneakerhead will buy one to five pairs of shoes a month. When it comes to getting what you want money would be something you care less about if you have it. The community also sparked many conventions where people trade shoes and buy or sell them while also bringing everyone together to have interactions creating a great

When were the modern sneakers introduced? It seems like they’ve been around forever! This is actually true! As stated in paragraph one of The History of Sneakers; “the Maya, Olmecs, And Aztecs of Central and South America made their own version of rubber soled shoes 3,000 years ago.” This means, sneakers haven’t been around just these past hundred years, but really as long as humans themselves.
I could not find one of my red sneakers, yet I rarely misplace my stuff. The only suspect was my little thirteen-year-old troublesome brother. The little chap always almost has this nagging habit of sneaking into my room and cause mayhem on my neatly arranged clothes, books and shoes, leaving the place a messy order. He always feigns surprise or puts on a gloomy face, feeling hurt that he has been maliciously labeled a kleptomaniac.

New Balance was founded by William J. Riley in 1906 in the city of Boston. Riley started by making arch supports for customers who had to spend all day on their feet. Over time the building of arch supports led to the creation of his first running shoe in 1925. As part of a local running club, Riley capitalized on an opportunity to improve running shoes of the time and his designs became widely popular. His new running shoes became so popular that by the 1940’s that production spread from running to many other sports. Then the expansion of the manufacturing significantly increased as he realized a need to running shoes with more selection for wider feet, and
In all honesty, to imagine myself in Jon Western’s shoes is very difficult. He was just a normal boy from North Dakota who hasn’t been exposed to raw, inhumane, and mass amounts of deaths in text and photos and is now doing this as a living. I would of taken the information with belief, but always making sure the sources are reliable. The tact I would of taken if I were Western would be emotional. I would want the superiors of action to see how life really is during this genocide and stories of the people who were affected. I would also want them to put themselves in the shoes of the victims.
It all started with a Jumpman and a swoosh, it was more than just a shoe it was the start of a culture. What most people look at as just a shoe to protect their feet has a story behind it and a deeper meaning to me and many others than “just a pair of shoes”. Don’t put on a pair of shoes unless you know how to wear them right. For every pair I own I could explain the troubles I went through and the people I met to get each sneaker. The best feeling was opening that fresh shoe box and taking out that paper wrapping. Putting on each new pair of sneakers is like taking a breath of fresh air each pair crisp as bacon. I am one among many sneakerheads, people who love to buy, sell, trade, and collect rare shoes. There is a culture, lifestyle, and history behind sneaker collecting. Most people would think dropping hundreds if not thousands on a pair of shoes is crazy but I believe sneakers are essential.
