The day came, the day our teams final soccer game came. As I woke up I knew we would win. I was also very excited because at the end of the game we would have a end of the season party. Once I was all ready to go we left to Nimitz, are teams home field,.
We arrived and i hopped out of the car and started to my coach, running as fast as i could. Before we did anything we had to wait for the game before us to finish. While we were waiting we formed line and passed formed lines and passed back and forth. Finally the team cleared and the team moved their water bottles over to where the coach moved. Once on the field we did shooting drills warmed up until the referees called for the captains to do the coin toss.
Have you ever been so determined that you had the power to do anything you put your mind to? I had that ability at the Hulmeville Soccer Tournament. The stakes were high. If I missed my goal our champion tile would slip right through our fingers!
I remember that day as if it was like yesterday, it was a warm day, the sun shining, and it was the perfect weather for us to play in. The important day for the Iowa-Grant Panther Softball 5th and 6th grade team, it was our championship game.
The next day was game day we all stayed in the same hotel so we all eat breakfast. I was quarterback so I had the most pressure on me. The football players left on the bus and went down there when we got there there was so many people there. I had butterflies in my stomach so, bad there was 3 hours before the game.
Not much is known about the origin of soccer. However, the Greeks and Romans played football and ball kicking games. The London Football Association developed the first sets of rules in 1863. British sailors and settlers brought the game to India, South America and Europe.
“I don’t want normal people to mock me”. These were the most offensive words I have ever heard. They were pronounced by one of my teammates during the allied soccer championship. Due to his suspension from the team for his disrespectful manners and temper tantrums he had missed many practices and thought he wasn’t prepared enough to play.
It was a saturday morning I had to get up and get ready for my baseball game. It was one of the most important games me and my team had ever played we were going up against a team called Storm Red, we started off the game not so good but we came back in the last couple of innings we stated a rally we were scoring and scoring over and over again. We ended up mercy ruling which means we scored to much for the other team to come back and win the game so we won 13-5.
Soccer has been described as the most beautiful game in the world. It is certainly the most popular; it’s played by more than 265 million worldwide! Every four years, thirty-two countries from around the world gather - after going through a grueling qualifying process - to compete for the honor of raising the golden World Cup trophy.
When we arrived we did not have one day of rest, and the next day after arriving we had the game, which we lost. It was a great game for me, even though we lost. The next day, however, was great because I get my first home run and we won that game. We were all very happy that day. We got to go to the pool of the hotel and after I spend sometimes with my teammates thee coaches took us to eat quality food at a restaurant.
At the first week of practice I lined up with a few players to run a drill. As I stepped into the
We passed all the security guards who all wished us good luck in our game. We finally arrived to our locker room where we all picked out a spot according to our position that we played. Our coach told us that all the defense and goalies should sit together and all the forwards should sit close. The second the team opened up their bags the raunchy stench of body odor filled the room. I set the stereo up and started playing the Rocky song that we would always listen to before every big game. The players were all dressed in our uniforms when the coach told us that he had a surprise for us. He yanked a box form the hallway and pulled out our new jerseys that he ordered for the great accomplishment. This reward reminded everyone of our unbelievable journey to the state game. Coach handed the jerseys out telling us the pride we should feel as we slip the sweater on. We had twenty minutes until the challenge when our coach ordered everyone to be quiet for his pre-game speech. He started out telling us how proud he was to be our coach and whatever happens in the next two hours he commends us. The rest of the speech was the strategy he wanted to use if we encounter any problems. In his final words the horn rang telling both the teams that it was time to take the ice.
To start practice, the coaches, who were mostly fathers of the players helped us get fitted into pads. Next we started weighing in to be assigned a position group. Me being really light and small for my age, i was assigned to the RB/WR group. When we finished weighing people in we split off into our
Soccer is a popular sport played all over the world. Even though it has only been popular in the United States for the past 30 years, soccer has been a long time favorite most everywhere else. The sport dates back to the Egyptians, who played games involving the kicking of a ball. Now, the sport has grown to a global pastime, including men’s and women’s teams, and the World Cup (which is played every four years).
Football or soccer as some call it like that. The game I love so much but never thought there were so many stories behind it until I started taking my “History of Global Soccer” this semester. Beginning by who started practicing it, how a simple victory can have an impact on people perception of the game and how it was used by politicians. I knew that it was invented in England even though it not clear where exactly did football start, but I have always thought it was being played by the lower class of the society backs then and was used as a way to get away from the hardship of the daily life. As I was growing up back in my country in West Africa, it was the only sport that we could practice essentially without any investment. So, I always viewed football as a sport for the “poor” since much
I was really nervous to hear that we was about to go on the field to perform. When I was sitting in the stands my friend said, “look, we have less than two minutes before halftime, and I got so nervous.” First, I started freaking out because I forgot about the whole thing. When we was getting ready to go on the field, we prayed, and did a traditional chant. After that,
“Some people believe football is a matter of life and death. I'm very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that.”
