Socia Social Influences On My Career Journey

My name is Jamie Federoff and I am currently studying at the University Of Southern Queensland (USQ) and hoping to get my degree in creative arts majoring in theatre. Systems theory is an important theory proposed by biologist Ludwig Von Bertalanffy in the 1940’s and later developed by Ross Ashby in 1964. It is a theory that explores a set of theoretical concepts used to describe a variety of things in terms of a system. There are three content influences in the system theory.

The individual influence is the first and most specific of the influences. It focuses on what an individual is made up of. This can include their beliefs, physical attributes, interests, abilities, gender, health, values and sexual orientation. This part of the systems theory develops on the idea that an individual can be influenced by being part of the larger social and the societal-environmental system. The main Individual influence that has impacted my career journey is health. My health affects my career as I suffer from asthma and back problems. These two health factors have become obstacles in my education and career; however, I consider them as minor setbacks. …show more content…

It is common for these influences to change as we develop in life. Social factors that have greatly influenced my career journey are family and peers. I come from a large family with two strict parents. At first my parents wanted me to become a children’s doctor but soon learned that I thrived at performing arts and pushed me to go further with it. This was definitely a major influence in my career journey. Peers were also a huge influence on my career choice. I was bullied throughout all my schooling because I was different and too confident. In a way this forced me to prove to them that being different can be put to good
