Social Culture Social culture comprises of customs, lifestyle and even values that identify a society. Among others, some of the aspects of social culture of a given society comprises of religion, politics, economic status, and language among others. As far as Religion is concerned, it can be explained that Mexico is mainly a Christian country with about 95.6% of the Mexicans being Christian where 89% of the population are Roman Catholics, 6% are Protestants , and 5% are Mormons, Jews, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and Tibetan Buddhists. The country 's Christian beliefs can be traced back to the arrival of the Spaniards in the country who brought Roman Catholicism with them. Thus, life expectancy of Mexico entails the average number of years that the Mexicans are expected to live on planet earth after birth. According to the World Bank (2016), the life expectancy of Mexican males is 73.9 years while the life expectancy of the females is 79.5 years resulting to the life expectancy of the county in general being 76.7. While compared to other countries, the life expectancy of Mexico ranks the country in position 46 worldwide. On the other hand, as far as the reason as to why the life expectancy of females in Mexico is higher than that of the males, Rivero (2016) and Krumholtz (2016) concur that the increased murder rate in Mexico has contributed to the decrease in males life expectancy. Marriage in Mexico In Mexico, people who have not attained the age of 18 can only get married after getting consent from the parents. Nevertheless, in order for one to get consent from the parents, the boys need to be at least sixteen years of age while the girls have to be at least fourteen years of age. On another perspective, it can be noted that even though same sex marriages were in the past illegal, the country 's supreme court in the year 2015 made a ruling that made it possible for the same sex marriage to take place in the country.
