During The Purge, there is a interesting consideration regarding social exclusion. Initially, there is an obvious level of exclusion between the inhabitants of the home and everyone outside of the threshold, but it goes deeper than that. On a deeper level, social exclusion is evident with the type of individuals that The Purge targets. America boasts of a healthy economy and low unemployment rates by eliminating 'non-contributing' individuals. The homeless are targeting during the purge - not only due to their lack of residence but because they are deemed as social parasites.
