The American Culture today has changed the way we live. It has made Americans emotional, because of the news that has been told such as national disasters that has come about. These national disasters show American unity and caring. The News Media plays a big part in American Culture because we need to know the truth about what’s going on around us. American Culture and Media are the same in a lot of ways, people want to know that the way they live is not influenced by the wrong and bad things that the culture has and explained by journalist. Without journalism people will be less important such as stars who love paparazzi and the afternoon local news that shows and reports what’s going on around us. In the present culture of the United States, social media has had a major impact in American society. It has a profound influence and intertwined itself in almost every aspect of the average American’s life. You have to realize that personally I don't know one person who doesn't wake up every morning and look at their phone for missed text or to check their social media and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Social media has exploded in American culture because it makes our lives easier and the world a better place. Hard to imagine there was no Facebook or Twitter just 12 years ago. Sure there’s some negatives associated with it, but overall social media has so many benefits. In fact, here’s seven reasons why we think social media rocks!

The advantages of having information so obtainable is that we can get information that we would like to know at the tip of our hands. Now that we have smartphones it is nice that we can look up addresses to certain places and be able to get the navigation application direct you to the location. It is nice to be able to get information that we need so easily I enjoy that it is so accessible. I constantly use the internet to look for information that I need. It can be to look up what certain person have contributed to history and how it has changed us. I also use it to find out side effects on medication or what is the medication is used to treat. This has helped me a lot at my job.

During the 2000s there were many events going on like terrorism attacking the United States. Also during that time social media was booming like MySpace. It was a way for me to communicate with family relatives around the earth. Social media was a good way to stay connected and relive moments that our family had created in the past. Those moments like gathering to welcome a new year with food, music and dancing to having conversations about our families past generation.

At no other time has a "like," retweet or generally thoughtless online movement been so intelligent of the condition of American politics. For the likeminded people social media acts as a glue which unite them under one roof of open discussion. They not only want to know what is going around but also want to know the opinions of other likeminded people and why their opinion is correct. Despite the fact that online networking permits individuals to be presented to various political perspectives, individuals have a tendency to be a piece of situations where their political assessments are continually fortified.

There was no warning of the immense tragedy that hit southern Louisiana on Friday, August 12, 2016. A rain that came in harder than most hurricanes that have hit Louisiana. This down poor stayed in the same place for several days and did not stop. Social media had a huge effect on how this tragedy played out. Where help was being sent, who was okay and who was not okay. People resorted to using their phones to check on people and letting people know where help was needed with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, local news stations, and the radio. The local news stations showed where to go and what forms to fill out if they needed help with getting started on their homes.

The internet makes the world feel a lot smaller and clearly much more connected. It has been used as a means to receive and transmit information in mere seconds across the globe. This has had a huge impact on how we receive our news and how it is being reported on. I looked at several news websites from around the world and looked into how they portray news to their audience.
