Web 1.0 was just a way for us to read news articles with Web 2.0 we can cut and what we read and share our own opinions on the topic at hand. Many radio stations in new stations has Twitter accounts and Facebook accounts so their readers and listeners can comment on the stories or situations that is going on in their community. Many celebrities have Facebook and Twitter accounts because they want to keep in touch with their fans and the social networking sites serve as public relations for celebrities. Celebrities capitalize on how many followers may have on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Fans up-to-date on the current trends of their favorite celebrity. Twitter is a social networking site that gives people the ability to pose at 140 characters on what is going on in their day-to-day life. Each post is called a tweet. Social networking sites such as Twitter, Google+, Facebook, and LinkedIn shares information about businesses, promotions, and products and services. Bowles, states “that blogging and tweeting empowers you to become your own web author and share your ideas and actions with the world”. I was also directed from Google.co.uk to a number of personal and private blogs and forums that satisfied my search criteria. All these Web 2.0 tools greatly assisted me in completing my task and equipping me with the knowledge to do these again in future. “Web 2.0” is a term coined by Tim O’Reilly in 1999 to describe non – written script web pages. They allow me to improve my knowledge base and develop working understanding of IT systems through the use of Blogs, podcasts and Videos.
The web brings people together with common interests and helps unite people as a whole.
In a nut shell the web 2.0 is the way the information is shared, stored, created, displayed, manipulated, and distributed how it effects the internet.
Web 2.0 is a term given To describe the second stage of the world wide web with this version being based on user interactivity and the sharing of data online and it is also more user friendly than the previous version of world wide web. Firstly, as stated in the Fuch readings the web 2.0 is a marketing ideology which relates to the issue offered in ' The Price of Shame' video that attention to certain issues on social media is magnified by web 2.0, the example given in ' The Price of Shame' was how the press making millions of the humiliation of Monica Lewinsky and everyday people alias consumers were digesting the news to be spread. This expresses the marketing ideology, here, business makes money from the extra attention the online news gains through web 2.0, the internet acts a s a supplier while the people who pay attention to it act as the consumers.
