Social Work Career

that I have decided to pursue a career in social work. Although I am currently working towards obtaining my bachelor’s degree in social work, my ultimate goal is to receive a master’s degree in social work especially since it would make me the first individual in my family to obtain such a degree of higher education. While the career possibilities within the realm of social work are vast, it is my career goal to work in a macro level nonprofit organization as a social worker.

The events or experiences that led to me to choose social work as a career are events that took place in my life and my and childhood. I had a very hard childhood growing up. I grew up underprivileged and lived in poverty. I suffered a lot of trauma as a child; my mother and father were not able to care for me and my brother due to their use of drugs and criminal behavior.
