I am a returning to full-time study at Victoria University of Wellington in 2018 to continue a Bachelor of Arts programme. I am majoring in Anthropology and Sociology with minors in Social Policy and Education. I am seeking assistance to cover my tuition fees. I was awarded a grant of $2,000 last year. However, as a result of my disability, I had had a double hip surgery to help with pain and, therefore, had to take time off. The grant was refunded to the society.

I mainly have Cerebral Palsy in my legs and hands. Cerebral Palsy causes significant problems walking and balance. I have trouble carrying textbooks, taking notes and transporting myself to and from the university. I frequently fall over and suffer from fatigue. When my pain and fatigue are too much I will take a taxi home, this all adds up. I would love to be in paid employment however, this would be too much on top of a full-time study schedule and appointments.

I live independently with my Grandfather in Wellington. I would love to be able to save up to move to Otago to complete a social work degree. I love working with children and youth. I hope to move once I've completed my BA in Wellington. I enjoying speaking with people and learning about social issues. Particularly issues around inequality, poverty, and humanitarian development.
I would like to complete my degree within the next two years and then move onto honors.

Ultimately I would like to end up working in a social development position around policymaking. Meeting and working with families and individuals. I would also like to go overseas at some stage and work through one of the universities. My disability does limit my capacity to learn some days. However, I have managed to complete all my papers so far and I'm still determined to achieve all my goals in the
