On July 17th 2016, I stood in front of the presidential hall of the University of Toledo gazing at the beauty of the architecture the college building possessed, and I anticipated what the University of Toledo had to teach me through the youth nations program. I along with the hundreds of other students from all over the country, stood there glancing around, with our ambitious eyes, and hopes to get what University of Toledo has to offer. As I walked in and met the students, professors and attended the one week long camp, I started to realize that the University of Toledo and I had the same thing in common, same vision, same goal: to help flourish what already exists. Exactly 6 days later, after the camp was over, I again stood in front of …show more content…
Moving in was not easy, but it wasn’t hard either. If I have to turn back and see what I have learnt form the change I have gone through and the knowledge that I have gained, I realize I have gained a lot of information. The main difference that has fantasized me the past year is the society. The difference between how the society in Nepal functions and how the American society functions is really interesting. The way people interact here and the way people interact in the society I was born in, differs, and it is always an interesting matter to me, to analyze …show more content…
Since I was a small kid, I have always been involved in extra-curricular activities, volunteering activities and sports. I have taken part in many national level and international level leadership competitions and won some of them. I have had a year of experience on becoming the vice-president of the student council in my school. Currently, I am a proud member of the National Honor Society. I believe that committing to the society is the main goal for your life and that is why you work for.
My main goal is to get a quality education through the University of Toledo and prove to become a successful student. Being involved is important to me because I want to help people and make the most of my life. In life, I know that I will learn new ideas, meet new people, and be out of my comfort zone at times, and I love it; I love connecting with people and learning new information. I love being able to volunteering and see the impact that I can make. I enjoy being a part of something bigger than myself. Because of this, I believe that I would be a valuable asset to National Honor Society because I believe that I exhibit the four essential pillars necessary not only to succeed in life but also to become a member of this prestigious group.
National Honor Society describes the person I aspire to be. A person with character, leadership skills, and an honest person. I would love to be a part of a club that brings out the best within me. I do believe I have some of the qualities that are appropriate and needed to be in this club. I've always tried to help the people in my community and also around me whenever help is needed. I think that I would be able to help out others, just like the people who are in National Honor Society. I would like to be a member of the Lenoir City High School National Honor Society because I like what the club means and its purpose. Doing different projects and being able to help people would be really amazing. I would like to do things for others without
Throughout my high school career, I have been involved in various clubs and organizations to help me become a leader in my community. At Auburn High School I took on the role of being a Publicist officer for National Technical Honors Society the first two consecutive years that it became a part of our school. I gained a lot of leadership experience through this club. Implementing a new organization is never easy and takes a lot of hard work and dedication from the leaders of the club. By being a part of a very helpful, dedicated and motivated team, we helped affiliate all the eligible members into the club and in turn helped introduce this new club to the school. As publicist my role in helping the club grow was crucial; I helped in publicizing the clubs various projects and involvement.
Being chosen to join the National Honor Society has made me realize that people notice what I do. It makes me want to put myself out there in a positive way, and lead in a way others will follow. I have trouble using my voice to lead instead, I shy down. I think National Honor Society will help me use my voice to become the leader I strive to be.
Being a part of National Honor Society means that I am held at a higher standard than most students. I am to uphold the four pillars of National Honor Society, which are service, scholarship, leadership, and character. All four aspects of NHS have been important in my life and have shaped me into who I am today. Being involved with and serving my community has given me a better understanding of the needs of a community. I have had the opportunities to help people, which brings me joy, and gives me a way to reach out to my surrounding area. Being a good scholar has meant the world to me all of my life and it has begun to pay off. I see myself excelling in areas of life that some struggle. It has also helped me get into good colleges and have
First, I believe that my involvement with the National Junior Honor Society will help me to prepare my future as a leader. John Maxwell once said that “ a leader is one who knows the way,
I am extremely honored to be considered in being in the National Honor Society. I believe that this organization helps a lot within communities and keeping grades up. That is why I believe I should be a member. I know how to keep my grades at the highest they can be, which in my case is a 4.0. I am also largely active within my community and school. I play softball for my high school and hope to be a captain this year since I am now an upperclassman. I also enjoy helping within my community doing things such as work, clubs, and travel softball.
In addition to scholarship, National Honor Society emphasizes community service. I have a passion for service and have been involved in service projects through my church, Dance Team, FFA and 4H. As I reflect on all of the community service events I have assisted in, I have realized that each time I have helped others, I have grown as a person. I have learned to be appreciative of all of the opportunities that my situation has provided for me. Leadership is yet another quality that National Honor Society builds. I have worked on developing my leadership skills through my participation in 4H, church youth group, FFA, and dance. I would like to gain more leadership experience by helping to organize the activities that National Honor Society has throughout the year. A positive character is recognized and developed by National Honor Society. I strive to always maintain a good character. I work hard and try to be a positive role model as a student, employee, volunteer, and friend. Character is important to me because of the leadership position I am put
I deserve to be a member of the National Honor Society because I feel like I’ve earned it. Over my high school career, I have been through many challenges, but I learned to face them head on with a positive attitude knowing how good the outcome can be. I fit the qualifications to be a member and if I do not fulfill them to a certain level, I will work on how to reach them. Throughout my school education, I’ve always tried my best, even more so in high school. I hold myself up to a very high expectation, I know I can always do better than before. As for volunteering, I am always involved in my community as much as I can. As a child, I was involved in many programs and I continue to do service work with more benefits to my future and character
A good leader inspires people to better themselves. I feel I am a good candidate for the National Honor Society because I have leadership experiences in refereeing youth soccer games, volunteering in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, and taking Links, which is a class that helps students with autism in their classes. While referring children's soccer games I had to pick and choose the calls that I had to make so the kids could learn the game but also have fun playing the game. Even though some kids didn't like it, I had to be a sense of authority to them to make sure none of them got hurt when playing soccer. When I go to visit my little brother, for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, I help him with his homework, and also make it fun
I think that it is crucial that you are an honest, responsible and genuine student. I believe my actions as a student represent my values. I work hard to put my best foot forward and I know that it shows in my studies and actions. Your character is what sets you apart for others. Qualities of leadership are an important aspect of being a National Honor Society member. I show leadership in both the classroom and in the community. I have taken on leadership roles in school such as class president, class treasurer, and taking on primary roles in a majority of class projects. But I also take on roles in the community by being secretary of the Broken Bow Library Teen Advisory Board and volunteering at the Anselmo-Merna Youth Volleyball Camps. But to be an effective leader you have to be a positive role model and have ethical values, and I believe I possess both important qualities. To be a good leader you need to put others above yourself and take initiative to step forward for the greater good. I strive to be a good leader by demonstrating these qualities. Service can be demonstrated in numerous ways. It is very important in National Honor Society to give back to the school and
My role as president of my high school’s National Honor Society also allowed to demonstrate my worth as a leader. I was in charge of the overall organization of the club, finding more volunteering opportunities
National Honor Society has been one of my top goals since my freshman year. When I found out that I could submit more information I was so ecstatic. I have wanted to be in National Honor Society for a long time because it will help me develop qualities and experiences that will last me a lifetime. A major quality and pillar of National Honor Society is leadership. Leadership to me equals sacrifices. People who sacrifice their time even when they don’t really have the time to sacrifice are good leaders in my opinion. I want to strive to be a good leader and apply leadership into National Honor Society.

Many people are trying their best to look for a better future every day. Their willingness to take jobs that no one want and that society are categorizing with a successful or a failure with a just before their title. Society is not seeing that these people are looking for a job that helps them pay their bill and have a stable future. These people are as valuable as any other person and should be respected as well. Instead, society is categorizing them with a “just” and making it sound like a failure on societies eyes. People deserve to be respected and value all the time and their job title should not matter at all.
