Do we really need to be notified that sodas can kill you if you drink too much? Additionally, people have to be foolish in order not to know that soda can lead to illnesses, people should not have to put labels on the drink. As you may know, sugary drink have the tendency to rot your teeth, and occasionally, lead to damage or pain throughout your body. Sodas are the biggest source of added sugar in the diets of young Americans. Before sugary drinks slowly take the youth America down from inside and out, companies have come up with a possible solution to fixing this problem. Although some may say soda should be banned due to the consequences it can cause, I believe there are better solutions, soda is not the only cause of obesity, and there is no guarantee labels will …show more content…

For instance, In an article, it reads, “Why not try something that might actually work: a soda tax. A big reason why soda is so popular is that it’s so cheap. A tax would make it expensive, and people won’t want to buy much of it” (Cook 20). This would cause typical buyers to question how much soda they buy. Kids would also run out of money if they were to keep on buying soda with such a high tax. Next, it reads, “Real behavior change begins with addressing the root cause of the poor dietary habits and empowering people to make individual changes that work for them, not coercing through fear or shame” (Cartwright). For all children, it would definitely be good idea, by law, to go to a class teaching them how to control their temptation to drink too much soda as well as other unhealthy foods. Therefore, there are much better solutions to stopping obesity from sugary drinks in America
