Born on March 4, 1998, Ivanna Michelle Meza Nuno migrated from her native Mexico to the USA at the age of 9 years old. Although Ivanna and her family had a financially stable life, they migrated to the USA escaping house abuse. The obstacles that she has faced in her short life have made of Ivanna the young lady that she is right now. The experiences that she has gone through have shaped her life and defined the person that she is going to be one day. Her life hasn’t been the best or the worse life there could be, but it sure hasn’t affected her with her personality since she is a person that loves life and is a heck of a friend from what I can say.

Julia Alvarez is an acclaimed American-Dominican poet and author. She has written many successful books and poems, many of which reflect directly on her life and personal experiences. Because of Alvarez’s American-Dominican background, her poems display diverse, cultural themes. These include what it is like to be American and Dominican and the struggles of moving from the Dominican Republic to the United States. Alvarez has received praise for her ability to write a wide variety of styles, including poems, children's books, young adult novels, and essays. Born Dmitri Dmitrievich Shostakovich on the 25th September, 1906, in St. Petersburg, Russia, the composer began his descent into classical music at the age of 9, before later moving on to study at the Petrograd conservatory.
