Volleyball and Softball are two international sports that are played on professional levels, yet they have many differences. Volleyball and softball are loved by many people around the world. Softball is a variation of the American sport baseball. While volleyball has different components it is also an American sport that combines the characteristics from tennis and handball. Even though they are two different sports they are different in many ways. The first difference is the environment, the second difference is the requirements, and lastly the rules. Softball is an outdoor sport it has an open field it also has an dugout for players that are not in the game it has a big gate to protect them if the ball gets thrown or hit around that area the field has dirt and white squares around the circle of the game know as bases for players to run on. Volleyball requires good upper and lower body structure, well balance, and speed in order to be played correctly. A player will need a volleyball, comfortable clothing, knee and elbow pads to protect your knees and arms from becoming scraped .on the other hand, softball requires very good arm strength to use for batting and throwing it is also very important to build strong thigh muscles, hamstrings and upper and lower back muscles to be well prepared to play on a high level. Even though softball and volleyball use the same muscle groups, they are different because volleyball safety equipment requires knee and elbow pads while softball requires a helmet and a chest protector for player’s safety.
