The perfect day for softball is on a glistering, hot summer day. As a softball player you get to experience, experiences most individuals do not. As a team we go to the batting cages an hour before the game starts to warm up batting and our arms. During this time we listen to music to get us pumped up for our game and have a team bonding session. When the game starts at six, we line up out on the field together getting our names announced and listen to the National Anthem being sung. After the National Anthem we separate to our positions and the game begins. The crowd goes wild, teammates, family, and coaches all throughout the game. Standing on the softball field in 80 to 100 degree weather, the sun, beaming down on you making you burn like a tomato. Not only do you sweat, when the wind blows you are plastered in sand from head to toe. During softball
The story of how I fell in love with the game of softball is a story like no other. It was not love at first sight, that’s for sure. I didn’t pick up a bat and instantly fall in love. I didn’t eagerly press my face to the glass of the car window as we passed the high school softball fields and watch the older kids play while wishing the day that I can sprint around those bases come sooner. I didn’t ask Santa to bring me a softball glove and leave it under our Christmas tree instead of a Barbie doll. It wasn’t something I just knew I was destined to do. In fact, it was quite the opposite.
Ever since I can remember, I always played softball. My Dad played it, his sister, my sister, and my brother played baseball. Like a wuss, my brother quit playing, because he had a pop up hit him in the face. Though, when I played, I would get hit by the ball all the time, and get right back up. Throughout my years of playing, and trying to find a position that I liked, I loved to hit. Every game in little league till I was in 14U, I was always fourth in the batting lineup. The older I was the better I played, sure I had a few bad games, but nothing like this.
“The inclusion of the package of new sports will afford young athletes the chance of a lifetime to realize their dreams of competing in the Olympic Games – the world's greatest sporting stage – and inspire them to achieve their best, both in sport and in life (Elliott).” Softball should
For ages people have long debated the difficulties of softball and baseball. They try to compare the two sports as the female and male respondents to each other. Softball is usually seen the sport young girls play that don’t want to dance. When people hear the word baseball, they automatically think of major league players who make millions and never make an error. Although softball and baseball are similar in style and play, softball is more of a challenge to succeed in.
Nothing is more fun than a fun, warm evening full of softball. A great activity offered by my school is softball. First, softball has been a great fitness sport and will help to motivate students and individuals. When practicing and playing this activity a person gets a lot of exercise. Second, it is a sport that can relieve all stress. If someone is stressed, just go and play a game of softball. 10/10 it will take all the stress away. Last, I plan to play softball in college at UA (University of Alabama). This activity makes a really important career for lots of talented girls. Softball is a really fun sport that can be played with tons of friends and have fun. Honestly, softball is certainly the greatest interest ever. It is a great activity that is super motivating and really fun. As can be seen, a really
Softball. It’s the art that I do when that lets me be myself. When I swing my bat and it hit the ball it’s like an artist stroking a line of paint on a canvas. When I am throwing a ball and it rolls of my finger tips it letting all the sadness, and worries go away. Playing the game is life painting a masterpiece. Each stroke on the bush is hitting the ball and running to first base. Music. It’s like a band-aid. To protect me when I don’t want to be sad, to express what I can’t express in words. Its when and artist can only express themselves when painted or drawing. And its like me when I listen to music,it’s how I express what I’m feeling inside.
First , being on this team will make me become a greater softball player. Even if I didn’t receive several minutes of game time , I would still show improvement for the next season and for my travel softball team. Practice will make a difference , especially if it’s everyday. Also by joining a high school team very early that will give me the opportunity to become a better player before college scotts start coming to the games when im a senior. I have been playing softball since I was in Kindergarten and have loved it since so hopefully I can continue on into high school.
Softball is very good sport. It's fun, crazy, and you get to make cool songs. I like softball for all those reasons and more. Lie, you get to hit things, run, slide so basically I like it because there's a lot of action.
Playing softball since I was in the first grade has taught me many life lessons over the years. At the first practice I went to, we learned the basics and mechanics of softball, like throwing, fielding, and hitting. My favorite is hitting, and still is today. As I grew up, I learned many new drills. Learning new drills made me realize that players had to start from the bottom and work my way up the ladder to get better. As I became a better player and started playing competitive softball, it was a new challenge for me. It also was a higher level of competition that I was not used too. Being able to play at this level has taught me to work hard and to practice on my own. Therefore, I decided to continue competitive softball and go to tournaments with new teammates and friends. I played for the Columbia Rockers for three years with one coach. To me playing these three years were the best years I have played for a softball team. “It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up”- Babe Ruth once said. The softball fields show me what it is like to never give up, have confidence, and to work hard for the accomplishments down the road.
Softball is an intense game that requires much concentration; Softball is a variant of Baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. It was invented in 1887 in Chicago, America as an indoor game. It was originally known as indoor baseball which was played with a mushy ball. This was originally played by Women but now is a both gender game. The name softball was given to the game in 1926. Most people know this game for its name being Softball and having been played with a big hard ball which some people find weird. Softball has been around for me since I was very young. I had many people that i looked up to which keep me pushing forward in the sport.
Softball is a sport that has gotten more competitive and popular over the years. Today there is two types of softball, slow pitch and fast pitch. Softball was created when a group of college kids wanted a sport that was similar to baseball but you could play it indoors. When softball continued to grow in number the sport moved to indoor facilities and small outdoor fields. Baseball and softball are very similar but in softball the ball is bigger, the bats are larger in diameter, and the pitch is threw underhand. Also, in softball the field is smaller, the cases are closer together, and the pitcher is closer to home plate. In softball there are different positions you can play to be effect in the field. There is the outfield, infield, pitcher,
Softball definitely helps improve one's health and skill. It improves ones' stamina, balance and coordination. Also it helps manage weight. It also requires skill such as reading the situation during a play, detecting errors in an athlete's play. It will also help gain decision making skills.
Have you ever wanted to play softball? If you have here are the important things about it. The three important parts of softball are hitting the ball, catching, and throwing. You have to be able to hit the ball. If you can't hit the
One of the sports that I enjoy is softball/ baseball. I played it when I was in high school and I had fun playing it. I also like going to see people play in person. It’s nice to see the excitement in the players when they hit the ball far
