These incidents brought the scope and importance of the bullying issue to the forefront. This article provide the history, purpose, goals and provides an overview of the program. It evaluates its effectiveness after nearly two decades of use. The results of the study indicate that the Olweus Bullying Protection Program was effect in reducing bullying incidents significantly over a two-year time span in a study involving elementary school students, grades 4-7.
