“Some things are destined to be – it just takes us a couple of tries to get there.” (J.R. Ward) I agree with the quote previously stated by J.R. Ward. Along with the movie Slumdog Millionaire, the quote defines Jamal’s destiny in the movie. I believe that what happened with Jamal was destiny and all of the events was bound to happen. The movie Slumdog Millionaire, directed by Danny Boyle and Loveleen Tandan, creates a movie that shows a Jamal go from rag to riches. Jamal is the protagonist of the picture and enters a game show, “Who wants to be a Millionaire”, which wins him an abundance of money. Along with the game show, Jamal recalls events with his brother Salim and his female companion Lutika. All three characters travel life together and each goes down a different path. Since Jamal wins the game show, I believe it was his destiny to do so. First, all of the game show questions was accustomed to his life. Every question that the announcer, Prem Kumer, asked was able to connect with Jamal life. For example, when the announcer asked “Who is on the hundred dollar bill?” Jamal was able to think of time when a blind child told him that Benjamin Franklin was on the hundred dollar bill. I don’t believe this was a mere coincidence because this is not the only example, but there are many other questions where Jamal was able to use his past life to answer questions. Second, this was Jamal destiny because all his life was mapped for this particular moment. This was going to happen
