It is already March, but Sonny Perdue has not been confirmed yet as Secretary of Agriculture, nor has a date been scheduled for his Senate hearings. However, it seems as though the Senate is not to blame, as the necessary paperwork has not officially been sent to the Senate yet. Before this paperwork is sent in, the FBI must approve it, including performing a background check. After the FBI approves it, it is then sent to the Senate, and a hearing can be scheduled. One reason the process is taking so long is that Perdue was the last Secretary nominated. But, now that there is just one other Cabinet nominee left to be confirmed, Perdue should have a hearing scheduled soon. Once this is scheduled, he should have little trouble getting confirmed.

Another issue DAPA faced was that Mitch McConnell delayed confirmation hearings of Merrick Garland. McConnell is the current Majority Leader in the Senate, and he argued that no president can appoint a Supreme Court Justice on an election year, even though it is nowhere stated in the United States Constitution. Under the Checks and Balances powers of the Legislative Branch, the Senate can deny confirmation of a Judge appointed by the Executive branch. The Senate cannot deny the confirmation hearing of a nominated Supreme Court Justice as this is one of the Executive branch’s constitutional rights.

A White House source said the nomination of Sam Clovis is in danger and could be pulled soon. A source familiar with the White House's thinking added that Clovis may have to withdraw, but it is not clear how that will happen, whether he will voluntarily pull out or be forced to do so.The imperiled nomination is the latest sign that Justice Department special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into the Trump campaign and Russian collusion is impacting the day-to-day of Trump's administration, despite top White House aides including Trump himself claiming that the indictments of former top Trump campaign advisers Paul Manafort and Rick Gates had nothing to do with the administration or the campaign. I am deeply sadden by Mr. Spurrier' decision to resign and wish him the best! Now we need to rally around our Gamecocks more than ever. We need to remember that South Carolinians are a family and although we are being tested with these tragic events that seemed to be happening back to back we will come out of this with our heads held high, a stronger South Carolina, and multiple wins!
Our country is divided into two major sides, one in which has a higher advantage, with conflicting opinions on how the government should run. The Republican and Democratic parties are based off of tribalism. Confirmation hearings are seemed to be controlled by the Republicans, due to the higher count of people in their party. For example, earlier this month, the Republicans decided to run through the confirmation process very quickly, and the Democrats were not happy about it. The republicans set up up to nine confirmation hearings within a week and several supposedly hadn't filled out all the financial disclosure and ethics paperwork.
I am writing this letter of recommendation for Steven Oliva. In my position of Production Manager for Charter Communications, I’ve had the pleasure of working with Steven for the past five years here at Charter where he was a playback operator. That title is misleading, since in his role he was a also a production assistant and personally helped me many a time with my avid editor. In addition, he worked on many remote shoots as well as a camera operator and assisting with the set up and tear down of equipment.
