Sonny Perdue Case Study

Decent Essays

It is already March, but Sonny Perdue has not been confirmed yet as Secretary of Agriculture, nor has a date been scheduled for his Senate hearings. However, it seems as though the Senate is not to blame, as the necessary paperwork has not officially been sent to the Senate yet. Before this paperwork is sent in, the FBI must approve it, including performing a background check. After the FBI approves it, it is then sent to the Senate, and a hearing can be scheduled. One reason the process is taking so long is that Perdue was the last Secretary nominated. But, now that there is just one other Cabinet nominee left to be confirmed, Perdue should have a hearing scheduled soon. Once this is scheduled, he should have little trouble getting confirmed.
