Introduction: South-South cooperation can date back to the Bandung Declaration in 1955. The non-aligned movement first envisage a bright blueprint for the future of underdeveloped countries. In 1987, South Commission was established by a group of 28 individuals who all came from the South. As Julius K. Nyerere (the former President of Tanzania) stated, on the basis of current situation, analysing the difficulties the developing countries face, the solutions they have adopted for solving them and the lessons which could be learned is the aim of this commission. During 1990s, great deals of unions have been formed, such as The New Partnership for Africa 's Development, ASEAN, Andean Community of Nations and MERCOSUR. The emergence of…show more content…
South-South cooperation plays an important part in the development of less developed countries and regional economic integration. One the one hand, it boosts economic growth and obtains global sources. On the other hand,, it means the development options and economic links are diversified as well as expanded. In this process, it provides more equitable and democratic forms of global interdependence (Ajay Tejasvi, 2007). However, in most underdeveloped countries, the supply and demand of South-South cooperation still lacks clarity as well as the gap among countries expands. Therefore it always accompany the unpredictability of risks. After an introduction to theoretical and background, through the Benefits Weighting and Challenge Analysis, this article attempts to interpret the question- what are the implications of South-South cooperation for the integration of developing countries in the global economy-and give a judgement about the influence in the improvement of the South. Altogether, this article has eight sections. The Second Section summarises the world economic environment. After that, in Section Three, it attempts to illustrate the theory of regional economic integration. Then come to a brief introduction of the South-South cooperation, which including the history, the form and the purpose.
