I truly believe that hold many of these traits and joining the National Honor Society will grant me the opportunity to expand on these traits and grow as a person. My father is going to retire in some years and my mother is a house wife. They both have invested in their house heavily therefore these reasons might affect my family’s ability to fund my college tuition.

A young person should strive to support their local community for various reasons. Engaging in community service provides people with the opportunity to become active members of their community and has a lasting, positive impact on society at large. Community service and volunteerism enables one to acquire life skills and knowledge, as well as provide a service to those who need it most.

I believe that my scholarship, citizenship, character, and willingness to serve and lead will be a great addition to the NJHS. When completing work, I am able to finish it diligently and efficiently. Whether it be volunteering at a race for wounded veterans, or doing classwork, I do it to the best of my ability. I would like to gain service experience through the NJHS. In the leadership aspect, I have knowledge from workshops. I am able to be a leader without being controlling in small and large group activities. When working individually I am able to keep my self-control, with a teacher around or not. This includes acting in a respectful manor towards teachers and students. Being able to have anything you could imaging on your own pair of sneakers would interest many people. Your shoes will be an eye catcher and stand out in a crowd. If all of your friends have the same pair of shoes, and you want yours to be just a little bit different, with my help, that can be made possible. Because I enjoy customizing shoes, and I will need to have knowledge to own a profitable business, I am going to go to Germanna Community College starting next year. After Germanna, I will transfer into JMU’s exceptional business program, where I plan to get a business degree.

Throughout high school, I have always been a part of high honor roll, and as a junior and senior, I have been a member of National Honor Society. Because I do not participate in sports, I have always been purely dedicated to my schoolwork and getting exceptional grades. Being in the Honors Program at LLCC would not only continue by achievements in academic honors, but help me grow in my goals and plans for the future.

Upon graduation from high school with an above 4.0 GPA and a 28 ACT score, I received the Wildcat Excellence Scholarship from the University of Arizona in the amount of $6,000. Among the friendliness, location, and pristine medical reputation, this scholarship was a large reason why I proudly chose the U of A for my undergraduate studies, because without the financial aid there was diminutive chance of being able to afford a college education. During my first semester freshman year, I struggled with common ‘teenager problems’ (low-self esteem, peer pressure, etc.), but there was also an added weight: I graduated high school at the age of fifteen, and it was at that time I left home for university life. While academically, I seemed prepared enough for this challenge, emotionally I was still only barely sixteen,

From the time I was born until the age of twelve, my family struggled with the basic necessities of life. My father worked endless hours in a factory, and yet somehow came home with a smile on his face. As a young kid, I never knew we were struggling. The thought had never occurred to me. As I got older I started to realize that my single father was working his life away to care and provide for his two little girls. He completely put aside his well-being because as long as his girls were cared for, nothing else mattered. Life was never easy, but as a young adult today, I have come to accept that my background has been a prerequisite for greatness, for it is our backgrounds that define who we are. The way we are raised, the way we are taught to believe, and the way we are taught to act, make us who we are today.

Like most young boys I grew up idolizing sport heroes, racing kids on the playground, and playing sports outside. My teams were the Cowboys, the Astros, and later on in life the Aggies. Consequentially, if you didn’t love Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio than I didn’t really like you. Although most of these decisions were made based upon my brother’s sport interest, I learned to love them in my own way. After all, my brother was the one who I played basketball with, threw the football and baseball with, and eventually the one who inspired my love for A&M and the Aggies. For all my life I can remember wanting to play sports and wanting to watch sports, but around 7th grade when my brother moved off to A&M is when I really started getting the sports bug. Growing up in poverty meant always being in a pinch for money. This led me to my decision of seeking a job within the first month of my freshman year in high school. Thankfully, this decision led me to the precious self-taught skill of time management. I was able to build my skills until my sophomore year. I tried to take on more shifts at work than I could handle, in aspiration of saving up for a car, and consequently my grades began to slip. I acquired my first C in my favorite class: Chemistry. Being an aspiring student in the medical field, and a student who prides themselves on their grades, I was devastated. As a result, I soon reached the epiphany that one has to have priorities in life; I chose mine to be education. Ever since I was a young kid I have always been interested in movies. My grandma, who was full of the wise the life experience left, always knew about my interest in movies. She feed my vain for the art. Even though her religion, she professed Adventist of seven-day religion, didn't let her go to the cinema, she always found the way to took me to the cinema. She and I enjoyed watch movies. We used to sit in the darkness room, with our faces illuminated from the reflection of the light which rebooted from the screen, both absorbs in the plot of the movie which made us laughed or cried. Transferring after one year at a school isn’t the inclination of most people. Students are pressured in high school to make the perfect choice of where they want to spend their next four years and as I approach the midpoint of my second semester, I feel as though I have not made the perfect choice. Binghamton University intrigued me ever since my first visit in 2016, and despite not being admitted the first time around, I think I am ready to try again. This is because I still think Binghamton will provide me with the best chance of success, happiness and the ability to achieve what I want after I graduate.

Although a seemingly odd combination, I am double-majoring in Chemistry and French at IUPUI. This is a complimentary pair for me in terms of my future endeavors, however. I aspire to attend medical school, ultimately to become a pediatric endocrinologist at Riley Hospital for Children. While some choose medicine for the paycheck, prestige, or to simply carry on the family business, I wish to become a doctor for an entirely different reason. When I was eight years old, I was diagnosed with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), a genetic disorder that affects the body’s general health, growth, and development. Devoting my career to becoming a pediatric endocrinologist is a welcomed opportunity for me to serve as a source of care and comfort for my patients and their families, as I was once in their shoes.
