Radine proved to be a good friend when she accepted Jeanne, stuck by her side, and defended her. Radine, like Jeanne, was a scout girl. If someone asked you to put yourself and your career on the line, would you? Even if you knew that your reputation would be ruined? In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee a lawyer named Atticus Finch is asked to defend a negro man: Tom Robinson. It's the early 1930s and The Great Depression is in full swing. Atticus Finch, a middle aged lawyer agrees to take on the case of a black man who has been accused of a rape against a white women, despite knowing the fact that it's taboo.

Some of the other characters are Grover Persons, Nickie’s ant Crystal, her mom and dad, Amanda, and Martin. Grover and Martin are boys that Nickie met at different times while she was exploring Yonwood. At one point, Grover hints that he used to be good friends with Martin. Crystal is usually never around. She is always off trying to organize things so the house will be ready for auction as soon as possible. Nickie’s mom and dad aren’t actually in the story. They send letters back and forth. Her mom is living at home and dad is off involved with the war somewhere. No one knows where it actually is he keeps sending weird postcards to his wife and daughter.

In the book “The Last Book in the Universe”,the author Rodman Philbrick used the main character Spaz to narrate the story. The book tells what happened 200 hundred years after an enormous earthquake, also known as “ The Big Shake”. Throughout the book characters like Spaz, Ryter, Bean and Lanaya change in a positive way that society wouldn’t really approve of. All the characters in the book go along with society at the beginning of the book. By the end of the book each individual take risks and speak up for themselves against what society would expect them to do.

Another great supporting character in this book is Helen Kirsten. She was a teacher/ librarian from New York City. She was odd and different. She was hired to be a librarian and a part time English teacher. She ended up being a full time English teacher. Mr. Stuart really liked her because she influenced the students to write with passion and poetry. He was so impressed with her that if she wanted to stay she had a job. Mr. Stuart

There are a good bit of characters in this book. There is Brian (the main character), Brian’s mother, Susan, Haley, Carl, Brian’s father, Caleb, the pilot, the two fishermen, and Billy. Where this is taking place is in a small town and in the woods, but is mostly talking about being in the woods. Brian use to live in the woods by himself. He comes back to a town to finish up school and has to part his ways from the woods.

I have always enjoyed movies. But at some point I started to think of movies as more than just entertainment. I began to view them as a movie critic would, rather than just a casual viewer. Because of this perspective, I think of "Apocalypse Now" as one of the best American made movies I have ever seen. As a student of and an active participant in the late twentieth century media age, I feel justified in making this statement. In my lifetime of observation of American media, including fourteen months of intense movie watching in conjunction with my employment at a local video store, I have had an opportunity to observe a broad sampling of the films, and feel more than qualified to make this statement. Darcy is the main character, Jamie is Darcy’s sister and Hakeem is Darcy’s boyfriend/ ex boyfriend, Tarah is her best friend. Copper is Tarah’s boyfriend and Liselle and Brain are brother and sister. Now you know everybody in the book. Every character in the book plays a very special part in it. They make the plot special and unique in its own way.

In my Round Table Essay I would like to introduce seven philosophers that we have discussed in class and focus on three specifically for my choice topic. The seven philosophers are as follows: (1) Socrates, (2) Plato, (3) Aristotle, (4) Francis Bacon, (5) St. Augustine, (6) Thomas Aquinas, and (7) Rene DesCartes. The specific three I want to focus on being; St. Augustine, Thomas Aquinas and Rene Descartes. Lastly, I will proceed to relate their ideas on the existence of God and their development of these ideas.
