Speaking FBI, people will think of the following picture: and FBI agent hold the gun point it to the suspect one hand, the other hand show the certification and shouting "FBI". They exist in numbers of movies and TV series as heroes. Are FBI in real life same as people seen on TV? The fascination of TV “Criminal Minds” has affected many viewers about FBI, however, the real agents are different than they are on TV. As people know, FBI are very mysterious organization. They have many secrets, and they are everywhere and they can solve any problems. They all wear black suits, black sunglasses, a gun is carried at the belt. But actually, they don't head into line of fire. What they do is analysis criminal behaviors, and most of time, they do not even leave the headquarter unless it's necessary (Turk). Also, nobody call any suspect "unsub" as "unknown subject", this term is also created for the show (Turk). It looks like the cases always come to them frequently, in reality, the cases are pushed up by local, state, federal government usually take weeks or months to crack (Turk). The thrill cases in the show are solved by them within very short time. In fact, these cases take months or even years to solve, they are not that easy as they look like on TV ( Rosevear). Each time when they have new case, a private jet is definitely waiting for them. In real life, they don't travel the country by a private jet, because the budget is limited (Keveney). Even though the real criminal psychologists don't to what they are portrayed on TV, they are still heroes who catch the criminals. What most people know about FBI is how cool they are on TV, few of them know about history of FBI. FBI investigates spies, terrorists, hackers, pedophiles, mobsters, gang leaders and serial killers (FBI). In the 19th century, government agencies often hire Pinkertons and other private detective company to solve the case.
