I got wonderful experience from Sprengel museum at Hannover. We classmates 11 Article https://goo.gl/TujNnt Introduction to Digital Media Page | 8 and professors went there it was a nice education trip. We had explored the art in that museum. Different part of that museum is Manifesto by Julian Rosefeldt. It is monumental film installation MANIFESTO. In which total thirteen different roles and scenes are there. Actor recites manifestos of artistic manner. These manifestos are core artistic message regarding social and political issues. It is representing modern art as well. In manifesto one of video teacher said to their students “nothing is original” and another one television anchor said that “all current art is fake”. Both statements make
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, or LACMA as it is commonly known, is among the world’s largest art collections in North America, and to be specific enough the most prevalent artwork in the western United States (Compton 165). This massive art museum has a collection of over 100,000 artworks, which extends from the ancient times to present days (Gilbert and Mills 174). These collections, which are mainly from Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin-America and America itself, are grouped into several departments within the museums buildings, depending on the region, culture, media, and time period. This paper analyzes the different genres of art and explains the main features that make the Islamic artworks
In this museum, we will be showing you artwork throughout history that all shares a similar theme in all of them. All of the art pieces in this museum all involve nature and seascapes, many artists throughout history have drawn nature and the ocean that is around them or beautiful place that they made up, but many of these beautiful landscapes were made with no specific theme in mind except beauty, many of these painting are supposed to depict beauty in the eye of the beholder, but many of these painting may still seem dark and gloomy.
After walking into the museum, you see the first exhibit- modern art. Ripping off a band-aid quickly is a great example of how it felt moving through this exhibit “analyzing” this “art”. While walking around, each piece just got more and more complexing but what was more of a conundrum
1985 (Figure 2) first appeared in 1985 plastered on billboards around New York City. The piece is illustrated in monochrome colours so to not distract viewers from the meaning of the poster. The harsh contrast in colours between the black writing and white background make the piece stand out and draw the attention of bypassers. Written on the artwork is a list of well-known museums in New York City and beside them is a score of how many women artists have had one-person exhibits there in the past year. The results showed that the Guggenheim, Metropolitan and Whitney museums each had zero, whilst the Modern museum had one. These results are supposed to shock the audience and make gallery curators feel a sense of guilt, that it’s clear the art world don’t appreciate women artists like they do men. Whist they are confronting the public with that truth they are also providing another critical message with this piece. The Guerrilla Girls identified these museums by first name, not out of convenience, but to make a statement, that the only museums to allow women artist some form of respect like male artist do was the ‘modern’ museum. Emphasising the fact that gender discrimination and bias nature in the art world should be in the past, and the only museum that realises and recognises this is the modern one. The poster’s main message challenges the patriarchal world of art and confronts art galleries
The Metropolitan Museum of Art has one of the finest Asian art collections that has enlightened and strengthened my understanding in my personal art experience. The Museum itself is an artistic architectural structure that graces the entire block on 82nd Street in Manhattan. Entering inside, I sensed myself going back into an era, into a past where people traded ideas and learned from each other. It is a past, where I still find their works of yesteryears vividly within my grasp, to be remembered and shared as if their reflections of works were cast for the modern devoted learner.
When I visited the Orange County Museum of Art (OCMA), I was mesmerized by the beautiful sculptures, paintings, and many other works of art. This museum introduces many different exhibitions at different times and dates. The exhibition that I chose to visit is called the “Sandow Birk: American Qur’an”. The reason why I was very interested in this type of exhibition was because it displayed Middle Eastern artwork. Another reason was because I am Middle Eastern and that I can relate to it. Although I was so focused on this exhibition only, I did not realize the other works of art. However, as I walked deeper into the museum, another exhibition caught my attention. That exhibition is called the “Olga Lah: Amass and Swell”. If anyone decides to visit the Orange County Museum of Art (OCMA), I would recommend to look online about any appealing exhibitions that are being displayed as well as calling their office to plan a visit. Furthermore, in my opinion, there were some types of art that I did not fully analyze because they were not relatively fascinating as the rest. Moreover, the artworks that I examined displayed unique qualities and their messages were demonstrated in a significant, yet informative way.
For my enrichment report, I decided to take a trip to the Los Angeles County Museum. However, I was trapped with the challenging choice of choosing only one museum for my cultural visit. Since, there are so many prodigious and amazing museums to choose from to visit in the county. But, I have heard many great feedbacks about the Los Angeles County Museum of Art from fellow classes mates, friends and family. So, I finally, had my destination set to and planned a visit to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Upon my visit my attention was already fixated on the unique building layout and the many arts exhibited located all around the outside of the museum building. There were several building that housed the many different art exhibits. Such as the first building I walked into, after purchasing a ticket. This building was called the “Ahmanson” building, which housed voluminous and diverse art of the European, Islamic, South and Southeast Asian Art, Art of the Ancient World, Art of the Pacific and Others. There were also many special exhibitions that was hosted at the time of my visit, such as the modern art gallery and Rifkin Gallery for German Expressionism. One of the sculpture centered in the middle of the building of the “Ahmanson” building called “Smoke” really caught my attention. As it quite an enigmatic and stunning metal sculpture that mesmerizes illusions based on your interpretation and perspective of the piece.
The purpose of this paper is to visit The Metropolitan Museum of Art and write a reaction paper about art works at the museum based on my impressions about them. To begin, I will start by giving you a little of background information about this interesting museum.
One pleasant afternoon, my classmates and I decided to visit the Houston Museum of Fine Arts to begin on our museum assignment in world literature class. According to Houston Museum of Fine Art’s staff, MFAH considers as one of the largest museums in the nation and it contains many variety forms of art with more than several thousand years of unique history. Also, I have never been in a museum in a very long time especially as big as MFAH, and my experience about the museum was unique and pleasant. Although I have observed many great types and forms of art in the museum, there were few that interested me the most.
In art, there are qualities that speak louder than words. It expresses many different messages and emotions and each person has an experience different from the next. In this paper, I will be discussing two artworks I encountered. The piece is a good example of how people can encounter different experiences in one piece. I attended the Orlando Museum of Art a while back with family and overall enjoyed my experience. On my visit, I found the museum quite impressive and felt a deep connection with specific pieces.
Positioned alongside Central Park within the heart of New York City, The Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the largest and most influential art museums in the world. The Met houses an extensive collection of curated works that spans throughout various time periods and different cultures. The context of museums, especially one as influential as the Met, inherently predisposes its visitors to a set of understandings that subtly influence how they interpret and ultimately construct meanings about each individual object within a museum. By analyzing two separate works on exhibit at the Met, I will pose the argument that museums offer a unique expression of a world view that is dictated through every element of its construction.
Both the video and the article are related in the sense that they explain us importance of humanities in our life. Without small daily dosage of paintings, sculpturing, architecture, museums, and galleries, our lives wouldn’t be much different than those of animals, plants, or even artificial intelligence. As we could see in example of Mr. Tatlock in the article “ A Man With no Time for Beauty,” it would be life without meaning and real purpose, and reduced only to quest for materialistic goods and necessities. Art has many ways to add the value to our lives, recently, I had chance to spend full week in Rome with my girlfriend, and city’s architecture, museums and natural beauty left me speechless. I felt some inner joy and happiness that
When it comes to the exhibition in museums, there is increasing discussion of museum as dialogue environment and its learning impacts on audience. Modern museums have gradually transferred their emphasis from collection, conservation and research to display and education. Besides the traditional functions of museum, 吉村典夫( 1979: 104-107) maintains that organisation is encouraged to develop responsibilities-

First of all, initiative of thinking of people might be provoked in the museum. For interpreters, the prior thing they want to achieve is that visitors can be attracted and give a feedback about their exhibition. In terms of visitors, Michael Baxandall divided visitors’ purpose of engaging in the museum into two aspects. Interesting objects and partly culture are the aims of coming to the museum for people. During the period of exploring the objects what they are interested in, people might have desire to know some more relevant objects. In psychology, William
