The religious order the sister’s charity of St Josephs was founded by Elizabeth Seton in the united states. She founded this religious order in 1815 after a number of struggles including the death of her husband. She married her husband in 1794 and he was a wealthy business man. Elizabeth and William Seton had five children and 3 of them died at a very young age. Although she was very busy raising her children she still found time to help the sick and dying among her family, friends and neighbours.
Deep in the thick swamps and woods of Northern Gulf County, amidst the buzz and sting of mosquitoes, chirps of squirrels, and swirls of the Apalachicola, is a long-lost story. One hundred and eighty years ago the town of Iola sprang out of the cypress swamp of what is now north east Gulf County. That small community, was, and still is an enigma in the wilderness of territorial Florida and has all but faded from the memory of Gulf County and is nothing but a boat ramp now.
It is unknown the exact date of Saint George’s birth, but scholars say it was most likely in 236 AD in the city of Lydda. His parents were Gerontius, a Roman officer, and Polychronia, a Greek native of Lydda. Both of his parents were Christians from noble families and raised George to be the same (St. George –Saints & Angels-Catholic Online). George was in Diocletian's army since his seventh year (Larson). Diocletian was the Roman Emperor at the time of Saint George who had a powerful hate of Christians. By his late 20s, George served as an imperial guard for the Emperor at Nicomedia. On February 24, 303 A.D., Diocletian announced that he would arrest every Christian. He also declared that every other soldier should offer a sacrifice to the Roman gods. George refused Diocletian’s order, but Diocletian had a great relationship with George’s father. Diocletian bribed George to believe in pagan gods, but George refused. Diocletian eventually ordered his death. Before his death, George gave money to the poor and went through torture sessions (St. George-Saints & Angels-Catholic Online). It is unknown the exact way that George died; some say chopped into pieces, others say buried to death, and others say consumed by fire (St. George). George died on April 23, 303, which is his feast day in today’s world

Saint Albert the Great was a patron of scientists. He was very important and still is today. I chose him because he seemed like the kind of person I want to be, he was respected and he was kind to even his enemys. This saint is important to me because he claims to have met the blessed mother and I think that thats very special.
“Saint Anthony, Saint Anthony please come around, something is lost that must be found”: a prayer I find myself saying too often. It’s said as a final plea for help after the drawers have been emptied, old receipts and dried up lip balms strewn across the floor and steps have been retraced to the local grocery checkout. It’s said when the search for car keys, teeth or sense of direction is in swing and eyes are peeled to places that said object could not fit. The prayer has been used for playful misplacements to credit cards, yet almost every time I ask myself how the ability to lose things comes as a second nature to my family. I am convinced that somewhere in the Bennett brain there is a tiny switch that turns off the ability to keep track of one's personal items, if no switch was found, my intrigue in this inability would excel.

Andrea It is traditionally popular because, it is according to the Christian Bible, Saint Andrew was one of the earliest disciples of Jesus and one of the twelve Apostles. Saint Andrew was the first disciple of Jesus. He was the younger brother of Saint Peter and was born in Bethsaida on the Sea of Galilee. The brothers were fishermen by trade. Jesus called them to be his disciples by saying that he would make them “fishers of
The earliest report of a monster in the vicinity of Loch Ness appears in the Life of St Columba by Adomnán, written in the seventh century AD (year 565). According to Adomnán, writing about a century after the events described, Irish monk Saint Columba was staying in the land of the Picts with his companions when he encountered local residents burying a man by the River Ness. They explained that the man was swimming in the river when he was attacked by a "water beast" which mauled him and dragged him underwater. Although they tried to rescue him in a boat, he was dead. Columba sent a follower, Luigne moccu Min, to swim across the river. The beast approached him, but Columba made the sign of the cross and said: "Go no further. Do not touch the
St.Bernadette was born at Lourdes,France. Her parents where very poor and she herself was in poor health. She suffered severe asthma and also contracted Cholera. Bernadette was sent to collect firewood with her sister and a friend near the grotto of Massabielle where she experienced her first vision. St. Gabriel is known as the "Patron of Messengers, Telecommunication Workers, and Postal Workers. He was named as that specific title due to the fact he was given the job of visiting earth to give essential messages from the Lord. A job he was certainly famous for was when he visited the Virgin Mary to tell her the news that she will give birth to the God's only Son, Jesus Christ. Since St. Gabriel was an angel of God, he has no specific date of birth or location where he was
The Saint I admire is Saint John Paul The II. Saint John Paul was a special man in many of ways. Saint John Paul grew up without any family members around because they all passed away at an, early age. He turned to Mary the Mother of God for his mother in his life, which results to be the best decision in his life. He also survived the times of Hitler and the concentration camps by hiding, and lying about his identification. Saint John Paul was a hard working guy, as he would work extra time for other people so they could do things with their family. He eventually became the Pope on October 16, 1978. John Paul then went on to become the greatest Pope this world will ever have to offer. Many of these reasons make me admire Saint John Paul
What really resonates with me about St. Ignatius is that he sets an example that anyone can truly make something of himself or herself. Today, if you were to look at his actions in his early-life, he would be described as a troublesome being. Although he might of started off a little rough in life, he turned himself around and became notable figure. Not only is he forever in our textbooks, but he has assisted in conveying to the world the importance of education. Not that he taught spiritual education, but that knowing worldly facts can affect your life and others. To me he is an example like Oprah Winfrey, a person who statically should have attained very little in life, but because of her tenacity has made a lasting impression in our history.
