Hi Dr. Lori, on newly diagnosed pt's with Cystic fibrosis (CF) one would gear them to NIH (National Institute of Health), Mayo clinic, located in Arizona or Minnesota, were they can be part of treatment groups or pilots for medications. There are so many advances in the treatment of CF that there is an abundance of resources out there. Resources can be reached from the care managers or through joining a family group of individuals with CF. My friend, Ms. C, stated that her two sons who are now 19 and 22 years old. They have no hospitalizations in over 5 years. Statistics are numbers on pages of people we don't know, doing research for a disease. These young men would look forward to their weekly infusions of high doses of vitamins and glutathione when they were young because it made them feel better.
There are several different reasons as to why a long term care facility would seek to join either an integrated health system (IHS) or an integrated health network (IHN). The motivation to participate typically comes from either a requirement or eagerness to enhance the organization's situation within the long term care environment. Organization chose to incorporate an integrated system or network when the goals of the whole outweigh the goals of the individual organization's current state.

In the period circa 600 B.C.E to 600 C.E., imperial decline and collapse was caused partly by over expansion, a failing economy due to overspending, and external invasions by barbarian tribes as shown by the fall of the Roman Empire in 476 C.E.. One main cause of the decline and collapse of the Roman Empire was over expansion of territory which led to the empire becoming too large to govern successfully and overall decentralization. At its zenith during Pax Romana, the empire extended from the Atlantic Ocean to the Euphrates River in the Middle East and also consisted of parts of North Africa. As the empire began expanding farther from its administrative center, the Romans were unable to communicate quickly or effectively enough in order to control their territory. With such a vast empire, Romans struggled to deploy sufficient troops and resources to defend the borders and frontiers from rebellions and external invasions. This also led to the emperor, Hadrian, building his famous wall in order to protect the British Isles from foreign attacks.

“They only want to kill when they’re alone. Of course, if you went in there you’d probably detach one of them from the herd, and he’d be dangerous (Hemingway).” This quote, from Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises, was one of his many pieces of work that helped light the way for new authors. Hemingway believed that minimal details created a better story, leaving mysteries for readers to solve on their own. Hemingway described his style as the Iceberg Theory. Hemingway deserves to be in the literary canon because he is a master of diction, his stories are unique and original, and he developed a new writing style that many authors still use today.
