There were a lot of events leading up to the American Revolution. But there are three events that are important. These three events were the Stamp Act, the Boston Tea Party, and the Quartering Acts. The first event was the Stamp Act. The Stamp Act is when King George decided he needed to tax the colonies over in America because he needed to pay for the wars they fought (uniforms, weapons, food, shelter, supplies, etc.). So when he passed the Stamp Act, all the colonists had to pay a tax on paper like newspapers, playing cards, and regular paper. The colonists rejected the tax. They protested until King George repealed it. The second event was the Boston Tea Party. The Boston Tea Party was when the Tea Act has been passed. The Tea Act meant
The American Revolution was the most important event to ever take place in this country. This war took place from 1765-1783 and involved Great Britain and the United States of America. Without this revolution, the colonies would have never gained independence from Great Britain and the United States could still be under their control. However, this revolution did not occur without a cause, early Americans fought for independence because of unfair treatment from England. There were many causes to the Revolution including high taxes, unfair laws, and even colonists being killed.
In 1765 the Stamp Act was passed and colonists had various reactions to these acts. The Stamp Act was an act created by the British. This was to pay off the debt they had from the French and Indian War. Items that were taxed were newspapers, dice, legal documents, and playing cards. Basically all printed goods were taxed. Colonists that wrote
The Boston Tea Party was the result of the Stamp Act being revoked. "Parliament...repealed the Stamp Act...the ministry devised a...indirect tax on tea." (Document 7B2) Many colonists felt as if they were being tricked into paying high taxes, and this was unnecessary and unjust. This caused the colonists to hope for a revolution to begin.
The first Act was the Stamp Act. The Stamp Act was passed March 22, 1765. This Act made it so that colonists had to pay tax on all types of printed paper(playing cards, newspapers, licences, etc.) and also needed a stamp on them to prove they payed it. The colonists were definitely mad, but they weren't mad about the price, they were mad about the standard it set. For example, before, the colonists only had to pay tax for commerce, now they were paying it to raise money for all the debts that Great
The French and Indian War caused Britain to go into debt. Parliament decided that the colonists had to take part in paying the debt. So, they passed acts that taxed British goods. When the colonists found out they had to pay taxes without representation, they were furious. One act that the colonists were upset by was the Stamp Act. The colonists´ reactions brewed up a lot of tension which led to the formation of the United States of America.
The Boston Tea Party was when a group of colonists dressed up as Native Americans and marched onto a ship in the Boston Harbor. The boat contained imported tea from Great Britain. The colonists were still angry that their was a tax on tea so they threw all of it overboard the ship. The British then became mad at the colonists and created more laws to punish them.
The American Revolution, one of the most significant events in our world’s history, has established a huge impact on not only life back in the eighteenth and nineteenth century but our society today. The Acts of Parliament highly benefited the British but did not afford those same rights to the colonists until the formal issuing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776, in which colonial freedom was granted. The most controversial issue is which group caused it; a result of propaganda by the colonists. Multiple acts and protests contributed to this war, three influential ones being the Stamp Act, Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party.
On March 5, 1770 two crowds form, the citizens of Boston, Massachusetts and the British troops stationed there. Conflict breaks out and the troops fire at the unarmed citizens several were dead and wounded (document 4). Three years pass by and another event takes place, The Boston Tea Party. Divided into three parties for the three ships docked at Griffin's Wharf . All of the ships contained tea that was going to be sold to the colonist with tax.
One of the events was the British Parliament power in the Colonies. In Document 6, it states that the British Parliament had extreme and unlimited power over the Colonists. The British Parliament made it so that no Colonists were allowed to be in on the Parliament, because if there were one the Colonists would have a voice and have some freedom to their own. The Colonists couldn’t do anything about the Parliament making laws to bind them, except to resist by using force. Another event was The Stamp Act.
It is my opinion that the one event that had the most significant role in causing the American Revolution was the Coercive/Intolerable Acts. I believe this event had the most significant role in starting the American Revolutionary War because of the following, one, the colonists were already angered by the taxes/laws/acts. Next, the acts changed the way many colonists had to live. And finally I believe that the Coercive/Intolerable Acts were unfair to the colonists and that that some of the laws and acta were not necessary.
The American Revolution was a turning point in American history where the thirteen colonies were exhausted of the tyrannic British government. The monarchy was imposing different tariffs and regulations that the colonists did not agree with. Over time, the citizens of the thirteen colonies and various officials came together to overthrow Britain and create their own country that they could govern. While different tariffs and regulations were imposed on the colonists, the Stamp Act would be the first tax levied on the colonists. The Stamp Act placed a tax on any document and printed paper that they used such as legal documents, newspapers, and licenses.
The Boston Tea Party was a tremendous moment in history that was caused by many factors and had many lasting effects that led to the war that shaped our country into what it is today, The Revolutionary War. The Boston Tea Party occurred due to the creation of The Tea Act in 1773. The colonists retaliated by taking tea off of a British boat and throwing it into the harbor. This led to the creation of The Intolerable Acts, and the beginning of The Revolutionary War.
The Intolerable Acts were British laws passed by the parliament in Great Britain during the year of 1774. The Boston Massacre, which occurred on March 5th, 1770, and the Boston Tea Party, which happened on December 16th 1773, were both major events that led to the Intolerable Acts.
This tax was on paper products in the colonies. The colonists responded with protests and riots.
The colonists were debating whether or not to retaliate. They decided that the British treatment was too aggressive, and that they wouldn't put up with it any longer.
